A security document with a first security element, which includes a first item of visually recognizable and in particular machine-readable information, and a second security element, which includes a second item of in particular machine-readable information which can be used to verify the first item of information. A method for the authentication thereof is also described.

Multi-layered body, and security document

A foil element and a method for producing such a foil element. The foil element includes a dielectric carrier layer, which spans an xy plane of a Cartesian coordinate system having an x-axis, a y-axis and a z-axis, and at least one electrically conductive layer which is arranged on the carrier layer and in which a conductor track is shaped in a frame-shaped region of the foil element. The frame-shaped region is formed by the area of a larger, outer rectangle having sides each running parallel to the x-axis or y-axis, from which area the area of a smaller, inner rectangle with the same orientation as the outer rectangle is cut out. A mechanical property of the carrier layer is different along the x-axis and the y-axis. More than 50% of the length of at least one conductor track section runs obliquely with respect to the x-axis and the y-axis.

Foil element

A multilayer film element and a method for producing the same. The multilayer film element includes a flexible dielectric carrier layer having a layer thickness of less than 800 &#x3bc;m and has a first electrically conductive layer, in which a first coil-shaped conductor track is shaped in a first region of the film element, and a second electrically conductive layer, in which a second coil-shaped conductor track is shaped in the first region. The dielectric carrier layer is arranged between the first and second electrically conductive layers, and the first and second conductor tracks overlap at least in regions and are coupled to one another to form an antenna structure.

Optically variable elements comprising an electrically active layer

A security document () in the form of a booklet which has a large number of sheets () connected to one another to form the booklet. A first sheet () of the security document has a carrier layer (), an antenna structure ()&#x2014;arranged in a first region ()&#x2014;for RF communication and an electronic circuit ()&#x2014;connected to the antenna structure ()&#x2014;with a memory device for storing data, and a communication device&#x2014;connected to the antenna structure&#x2014;for communicating data stored in the memory device to a reader via a radio interface by means of the antenna structure (). A second sheet () of the security document has a carrier layer () and one or more electrically conductive layers shaped in a second region () for the formation of at least one LCR resonant circuit (). The antenna structure () and the at least one LCR resonant circuit () are arranged on the respective carrier layer in such a way that, when the booklet is closed, the first region () of the first sheet () and the second region () of the second sheet () overlap at least in some regions and the at least one LCR resonant circuit () is electromagnetically coupled to the antenna structure ().

Security document

The invention concerns a security document comprising a flexible carrier and a multi-layer flexible film body which is applied to the flexible carrier and which provides one or more optical security features. The flexible multi-layer film body has an electrically controller display element for generating an optical security feature with associated electrical current source for operation of the display element in combination with an optically active diffractive structure.

The invention concerns a multi-layer film element () and a process for the production of such a film element. The multi-layer film element () has at least one flexible dielectric layer () and one or more electrically conductive layers () each comprising an electrically conductive material. The layer thickness of the electrically conductive layer or layers is in each case less than 20 &#x3bc;m. The electrically conductive layer or layers are shaped in pattern form for forming two or more conductor structures which are coupled together to afford an antenna structure galvanically connected to an electric circuit ().

Multi-layer film element

Described is a security element for increasing the forgery-proof nature of a security document, in particular an identity card or pass, a passport or an identification card. The security element () has a first diffractive region () having an open code which is visible with a naked eye. The first diffractive region further has a concealed code which is not visible with the naked eye and which can be reconstructed from the arrangement of diffractive microregions disposed in the first region () and/or from the structure of the first diffractive region (). Further described is a method of increasing the forgery-proof nature of a security document.

Diffractive security element with individualized code

The invention concerns a security element () for RF identification, and a security document which is provided with such a security element (). The security element has a flexible film body () into which are integrated an electronic circuit which is designed for the storage of security-relevant items of information and an RF antenna which is connected to the electronic circuit and which serves for contact-less communication of the electronic circuit with a test device. Permanently fixed on a surface of the flexible film body () is a first optically variable element () which at least region-wise covers the region of the flexible film body in which the electronic circuit is arranged, wherein permanently fixed on the other opposite surface of the flexible film body is a second optically variable element.

Security element for RF identification

A multi-layer body () includes an optically machine-readable identification, wherein the multi-layer body has at least one first plastic material layer with a microscopically fine relief structure shaped in that layer and the optical effect of the microscopically fine relief structure can be altered region-wise for writing in an item of information. First and second regions have different relief structures and form a background pattern (through) which encodes a first item of information and which is partially altered for writing in an individualized code pattern (through) which encodes an individualized second item of information and which overlaps the background pattern. There is also described a method of manufacturing such a multi-layer body and a method of reading the items of information.

Multilayer element with an identification which can be read optically by a machine

The invention concerns a security document () having a first transparent region () in which a first transparent optical element () is arranged and a second region () in which a second opaque optical element () is arranged. The second opaque optical element () exhibits a first optical effect. The first region () and the second region () are arranged in mutually spaced relationship on a carrier () of the security document, in such a way that the first and second regions can be brought into mutually overlapping relationship. Upon overlap of the second optical element with the first optical element with a first spacing () between the first and second optical elements a second optical effect appears and upon overlap of the second optical element with the first optical element with a second spacing () between the first and second optical elements, which is greater than the first spacing (), a third optical effect () which is different from the second optical effect appears.

The invention concerns an individualized security document () and a method of individualizing a security document. The individualized security document () has a number of pages (to) which are connected together by means of stitching or adhesive. In addition integrated into the security document by means of stitching and adhesive is a single-layer or multi-layer film body () which is provided with an individualized optical security element and which is folded in the region of the stitching or adhesive. The fold divides the film body () into a first part () on which the individualized optical security element is arranged and a second, preferably flap-shaped part () which is permanently connected to a plastic body having at least one machine-readable security element, wherein the at least one machine-readable security element has an electronic circuit for RF identification.
