An enclosed connection system for mechanically and electrically connecting first and second cables each including an elongate electrical conductor covered by an insulation layer, includes an electrical connector, an enclosure, and a protective end cap. The electrical connector is configured to form a connection with the first and second cables wherein the conductors of the first and second cables are electrically connected by the electrical connector. The enclosure is configured to receive and cover the connection and to protect the electrical connector. The enclosure includes a plurality of enclosure ports each configured to receive a cable. The protective end cap is configured to selectively cover at least a selected one of the enclosure ports.

A cable connector system for connecting electrical cables includes a connector and a plug. The connector includes a connector body and a shear bolt. The connector body includes a connector outer surface and a bolt bore intersecting the connector outer surface at a bore opening. The connector outer surface is curved. The shear bolt is configured to be mounted in the bolt bore to secure an electrical cable in the connector body. The plug includes a head and is configured to be mounted in the bolt bore at the bore opening. The head has a head outer surface and the head outer surface is curved.

An enclosed connection system for mechanically and electrically connecting first and second cables, the cables each including an elongate electrical conductor covered by an insulation layer, includes an insulation piercing connector and an enclosure. The insulation piercing connector includes at least one electrically conductive piercing member and a clamping mechanism. The clamping mechanism is configured and operable to force the at least one piercing member through the insulation layers of the first and second cables and into electrical engagement with the conductors of the first and second cables such that the conductors of the first and second cables are electrically connected to one another through the at least one piercing member. The enclosure is configured to receive and cover the connection and to protect the insulation piercing connector.

A pre-expanded cover assembly unit for covering an electrical connection between first and second cables includes a cover assembly in a folded state including an elastomeric outer sleeve defining a cable passage to receive the electrical connection. The first outer section is folded at a first annular fold and is on the intermediate section and/or the second outer section. The cover assembly includes a first retention layer between the intermediate section and the first outer section. The cover assembly includes a first friction reducing layer between the first retention layer and the first outer section. The cover assembly unit includes a removable holdout mounted within the outer sleeve. The cover assembly is movable from a folded state to an unfolded state by sliding the first outer section in a first axial direction away from the intermediate section.

A protective conductor cover for a distribution line conductor includes an elongate cover body having a longitudinal axis and including first and second opposed, elongate sidewalls. The sidewalls define an axially extending cover channel terminating at axially opposed end openings, and an axially extending bottom opening communicating with the cover channel and terminating at the axially opposed end openings. The protective conductor cover further includes an integral conductor retention tab having a base end attached to the first sidewall and extending laterally from the first sidewall into the cover channel to a free terminal end of the conductor retention tab. The conductor retention tab is configured to elastically deflect and secure the conductor in the cover channel when the conductor is inserted into the cover channel through the bottom opening.

A splice sleeve retainer for securing a sleeve to a leg of an electrical joint body has a retention axis and includes at least one connecting strap extending along the retention axis, and first, second and third coupling members secured to the at least one connecting strap at axially spaced apart locations along the at least one connecting strap. The splice sleeve retainer is configured such that, when the sleeve is installed on the leg and the splice sleeve retainer is installed on the sleeve: the first coupling member engages the sleeve at a first axial location; the second coupling member engages the sleeve at a second axial location nearer the leg than the first axial location; and the third coupling member engages the joint body to resist axial displacement of the sleeve relative to the leg.

A pet feeder provides a food dish surrounded by a water moat which flows in common with an open watering portion of the pet feeder. A separate portion of the feeder provides a water storage bottle held in the inverted orientation so as to replenish water in the feeder automatically. A float controlled water inlet may also be used to maintain water level.
