An electrical connector and system for connecting to a terminal post. The electrical connector includes a housing body, a contact and a locking release member. The housing body includes a post receiving passage for receiving the terminal post therein. The contact is provided in the post receiving passage and is positioned about the circumference of the post receiving passage. The contact will make an electrical engagement with a terminal post inserted into the post receiving passage regardless of the orientation of the terminal post with respect to the contact. The electrical connector which prevents the improper mating of the connector to the post, prevents unwanted rotation of the connector, provides a visual indication that the proper connection is secured and provides a secondary lock to ensure that unwanted unmating of the connector does not occur.

Quick connect power connector system

A shuttle assembly is configured to connect an insulated wire to a contact terminal. The shuttle assembly may include a connecting insert defining an exposed wire-crimping chamber. The connecting insert is configured to receive an exposed end of a conductive wire, and is configured to be crimped to the exposed end of the conductive wire. A seal member is connected to the connecting insert, and is configured to be crimped to an insulating cover of the insulated wire.

Systems and methods for forming a conductive wire assembly

A connector comprising: (a) at least one multi-fiber ferrule having a front face presenting a plurality of fiber end faces, and a back face having a first surface and defining a first orifice through which the fibers pass; (b) a retainer for holding the at least one multi-fiber ferrule, the retainer comprising a front face having a second surface and defining a second orifice through which the fibers pass, the second surface contacting the first surface; wherein at least one of the first or second surface is convex along at least one of an x-axis or a y-axis such that the at least one multi-fiber ferrule is able to move relative to the retainer about at least one of the axes.

A terminal module for assembly into a high-speed electrical connector having a contact receiving first contact pair and second contact pair, the second contact pair being in electrical communication with the first contact pair via a corresponding pair of contact interconnections. The contact interconnections have a substantially identical length of the corresponding pair and are arranged within parallel planes. The module further includes a shielding member arranged and disposed in close proximity to at least three edges of one or more of the first contact pair, the second contact pair and the contact interconnections to provide shielding. A housing member is arranged and disposed to receive backplane contacts via contact receiving apertures. The housing member is engaged with the first contact pair to receive the contacts into the contacts of the first contact pair. A backplane having grounding plate grid is also disclosed.

An electrical connector assembly includes a conductive shell and a connector having a dielectric housing disposed within the shell. The housing includes a conductive outer surface. A conductive member is disposed between the shell and the housing. The conductive member and the shell cooperate to provide a ground path from the conductive outer surface of the housing. The conductive outer surface of the connector housing comprises a conductive coating applied to the outer surface of the housing. The conductive member includes a plurality of flexible tabs that electrically engage the conductive outer surface of the housing.

Electrical connector with ESD protection

An electrical connector system is adapted for placement into a recessed space defining a raceway formed in a floor of an aircraft having an open region. The electrical connector system includes a first connector and a second connector connectable along a first axis. A frame is provided. The first connector is selectably movable in the frame along the first axis in response to movement of a frame portion, with the second connector being constrained by the frame to resist movement along the first axis. Movement of the frame portion permits selective engagement and disengagement between the first and second connectors, the frame portion being accessible from the open region.

Confined envelope connector system

A stackable modular connector assembly, is provided. The stackable modular connector assembly includes a track having a pair of juxtaposed rails each defining an elongate channel formed therein. Desirably, the channels are oriented toward one another. The stackable modular connector assembly further includes a plurality of connector shells operatively engageable with the track. Desirably, each connector shell extends between the opposed channels of the pair of rails and is slidably stackable within the channels of the track.

A seal for an electrical connector in a connector block having a connector channel with a keyway is provided. The seal includes a tubular body that defines a longitudinal axis therethrough. The body includes a forward portion defining a forward end and a rearward portion defining a rearward end. The body is configured to be received in a connector channel in the connector block. A key portion extends longitudinally along an outer surface of the body. The key portion is configured to be received in the keyway in the connector channel. The body and the key portion seal the connector channel in the connector block when the connector is loaded into the connector block.

The invention is directed to an electrical connector (20) having a housing with electrical contacts secured therein. An alignment post (30') is secured to the housing. The alignment post (30') has a forward end (131) with a first width, a locking groove (32'), and a flared portion (130) disposed between the forward end (131) and the locking groove (32'). The flared portion (130) has a second width that is greater than the width of the forward end (131). The flared portion (130) defines a locking shoulder (132).

A shielded, stacked electrical connector assembly comprises an upper electrical connector (2) and a lower electrical connector (4) having respective insulating housings (6,8). Each housing (6,8) has cavities (18) in which are secured electrical terminals (20) having terminal legs (46 and 50) which extend from a terminal receiving face (24) of the housing (6 or 8). A one piece, insulating, connector support housing (10) comprises an upright frame (54) from which projects a connector support (86) supporting the upper connector (2), the lower connector (4) being disposed beneath the connector support (86). The terminal legs (46) of the upper connector (2) extend through notches (80,82) in terminal leg spacer plates in the frame (54). The terminal legs (50) of the terminals (20) of the lower connector (4) extend through notches (44) in a terminal leg spacer plate (42) of the housing (8) of the lower connector (4). The metal shield (12) is secured to the housings (6 and 8) of the connectors (2 and 4) and to the frame (54) by means of detentes (110,112,114 and 116) to secure the connectors (2 and 4) and the connector support housing (10) in assembled relationship.
