A clamp that includes a bar and a jaw assembly. The jaw assembly is configured to receive the bar to therethrough and to be slidably positionable along the bar. The jaw assembly comprises a lever that forms an aperture through which the bar passes, the lever being movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position within the jaw assembly, wherein if the lever is at the disengaged position within the jaw assembly the lever is slidable along the bar and if the lever is at the engaged position within the jaw assembly the lever engages the bar to hold the lever at a fixed position along the bar, and wherein the lever has a shape that is not substantially straight and reduces the positional difference between the engaged position and the disengaged position.

Clamp and lever therefor

The present invention discloses pliers including first and second members having first and second jaw members, respectively, and a first handle and a second handle. The jaws have first and second workpiece engaging surfaces constructed and arranged to generally correspond to first and second surfaces of a standardized workpiece, such as a hexagonal nut. A pivot assembly is provided to interact between the first and second members, which includes a plurality of pivot retaining regions disposed on the first jaw member and a pivot structure disposed within the second member. The pivot structure is engageable at a selected one of the retaining regions to adjust a relative position of a pivot axis between the first and second members so as to adjust an extent of relative spacing between the first and second jaws of the pliers. The second member and the pivot structure are capable of relative movement with respect to one another so that the first workpiece engaging surfaces and the second workpiece engaging surfaces orient themselves into engagement with the first and second surfaces of the standardized workpiece, respectively.

A bar clamp, including a bar; a first jaw movably coupled to the bar; a second jaw being movably coupled to the bar; and a motor configured to move the second jaw toward the first jaw. One of the first and second jaws including a drive lever that engages the bar and a trigger to move the drive lever and move the bar relative to the one of the first and second jaws.
