Acoustic waveguides are disclosed for mounting to a conduit. The acoustic waveguides provide a mounting area that minimizes the effect of the mount on the acoustic wave traveling through the waveguide while providing an effective seal, even under high pressure conditions.

Flow cell for a flow meter

An ultrasonic flow meter system includes transducers arranged with respect to a conduit to define at least one chordal path through fluid flowing in the conduit, and at least one transmitting transducer and receiving transducer pair on the chordal path for generating a transit time signal. At least one receiving transducer is positioned to receive scattered energy to generate a range gated Doppler signal. The system further includes a processing subsystem for exciting the at least one transmitting transducer. The processing subsystem is responsive to the transit time signal and the range gated Doppler signal and configured to generate a velocity profile and a mean velocity of the fluid in the conduit.

Ultrasonic flow meter system

A method of determining the flow rate of a fluid in a conduit. Ultrasonic energy is directed through the conduit along multiple paths. The ultrasonic energy is detected and measured using a range gated Doppler technique to determine the velocity of the fluid at several points in the conduit. These point velocities are used to calculate the average flow rate of the fluid in the conduit.

Ultrasonic flow rate measurement method and system

A holder for a transducer having a mounting portion, a coupler, and a clamping portion is disclosed. The mounting portion has a through hole with a conical seat disposed therein, with at least a portion of the through hole being configured to receive the transducer. The coupler is secured to the transducer and has a first interface surface configured to sit on the conical seat, and a second interface surface disposed on an opposite side to that of the first interface surface. The clamping portion has a through hole and a clamping surface, at least a portion of the through hole is configured to receive the transducer, and the clamping surface is configured to press against the second interface surface of the coupler. The clamping portion and mounting portion are configured to securely capture the coupler therebetween, thereby securely positioning the transducer relative to the mounting portion.
