A multi-pane door assembly for an oven appliance includes a door having first and second door panes. The first door pane is secured to the second door pane at a hinge point and is rotatable with respect to the second door pane between open and closed positions. As such, the door panes define a space therebetween when the first door pane is in the closed position. The door assembly also includes an engagement device for securing the door panes together, a locking mechanism for locking the engagement device, and a controller communicatively coupled to the actuating device. The locking mechanism includes, at least, a locking member and an actuating device. Thus, the controller is configured to receive one or more safety conditions relating to the oven appliance and select whether to engage or disengage the actuating device based on whether the safety condition(s) correspond to the predetermined safety condition(s).

Safety locking mechanism for a multi-pane door assembly of an oven appliance

A method for allowing opening of a first door pane with respect to a second door pane of a multi-pane door assembly of an oven appliance includes receiving, via a controller, one or more safety conditions relating to the oven appliance. The method also includes determining, via the controller, whether the one or more safety conditions correspond to one or more predetermined safety conditions. Further, the method includes allowing, via the controller, opening of the first door pane with respect to the second door pane of the multi-pane door assembly to provide access to a space between the first and second door panes only upon satisfaction of the one or more safety conditions corresponding to the one or more predetermined safety conditions.

Safety control logic for a multi-pane door assembly of an oven appliance

A door assembly includes an inner door panel and an outer door panel pivotable with respect to the inner door panel, the inner door panel including a latch base. The outer door panel includes a handle assembly including a handle endcap, a handle body rotatable with respect to the handle endcap, and a latch bar connected with the handle body, the latch bar being detachably coupled to the latch base. The outer door panel is rotatable with respect to the inner door panel, such that the outer door panel can be rotated away from the inner door panel.

A secondary control valve is connected in series between the manually adjustable primary control valve and the gas burner. A controller is in communication with the secondary control valve. The controller is configured to adjust the secondary control valve in response to a user-determined set temperature, a temperature measurement from the temperature sensor, and a determined position of the manually adjustable primary control valve.

The pair of doors is connected with a linkage assembly such that the doors rotate open and closed simultaneously. The spur gear can hinder unwanted rotation of the pair of doors or compress the pair of doors against a seal.

The deflection plate may extend at a non-orthogonal angle from the top panel at a rear portion of the cabinet. An appliance defining a vertical direction includes a door, a catch, and a door assembly. The door defines a cavity accessible through an opening. The catch may be spaced apart from the door along the vertical direction. The door assembly may include a latch assembly and a trigger. The latch assembly may include a latch movable along the vertical direction. The trigger may be coupled to the latch assembly. In addition, the trigger may be movable between a first position and a second position. When the trigger is in the first position, the latch may engage the catch. In contrast, when the trigger is in the second position, the latch may be spaced apart from the catch along the vertical direction.

Door assemblies for appliances

A knob assembly includes a light guide and a control knob that is independently rotatable relative to the light guide. The light guide is positioned at an aperture formed on a surface such that the light guide receives light emitted by a light source positioned below the surface along a vertical direction. The light guide also defines a guide opening, and further includes an opaque and translucent region. The control knob defines a light opening and is rotatably coupled to a stem extending through the guide opening. The control knob is rotatable between a first and second position. In the first position, the light opening is positioned entirely over the opaque region of the light guide along the vertical direction. In the second position, the light opening is positioned entirely over the translucent region of the light guide along the vertical direction. A related cooktop appliance is provided.

An oven appliance with a cabinet that defines a chamber for cooking food items is provided. A pair of doors is rotatably mounted to provide selective access to the chamber of the cabinet. The pair of doors is connected with a linkage assembly that simultaneously opens and closes the pair of doors. The linkage includes features for rotating one door of the pair at a first angular velocity and for rotating another of the pair of doors at a second angular velocity. An angular velocity differential between the first angular velocity and the second angular velocity can limit impacting or rubbing between the pair of doors during simultaneous opening and closing of the pair of doors.

The present subject matter provides an oven appliance. The oven appliance includes a cabinet that defines a chamber. A pair of doors is rotatably mounted to provide selective access to the chamber of the cabinet. A linkage assembly connects the doors of the pair of doors such that the doors rotate open and closed simultaneously. The linkage assembly includes a pair of gears that transfer rotational motion of one door to another door of the pair of doors.
