A modular faucet bar spout in which trim may be removed or reinstalled from above a sink deck without affecting the waterway connections beneath the sink deck is disclosed. Each faucet or spout includes a valve body wit a trim set. The valve body includes a pair of tubular conduits spaced apart to extend through passages in the sink deck and a cross conduit connecting the tubular conduits. A water outlet nipple leads from the cross conduit and has a slide-on fitting located above the sink deck when the conduits are positioned to extend through the passages. The trim set includes an escutcheon, an adapter and a spout. The escutcheon has an open bottom and a spout connecting passage formed in its top surface. The adapter is positioned in the escutcheon and has a slide-on inlet connection to receive and connect to the water outlet nipple of the valve body.

An aerator includes a housing, a throttle assembly, a mixing chamber, a screen and an elastometric ring. The throttle assembly includes a first or upper throttle member and a second or lower throttle member, each of the upper and lower throttle members defining a portion of a snap element. The snap element allows for retention and relative rotation of one of the first and second throttle members in order to change the air content of the water stream from a closed aerator position which provides a substantially non-aerated water stream to an opened aerator position which provides a combined water and air stream. One embodiment of a snap element being defined by upper throttle projections and a lower throttle flange whereby the lower throttle flange is urged upstream of the upper throttle projections. The lower throttle member is retained by the upper throttle member for selective rotation by the user. The lower throttle upstream projections and beveled edges facilitate the insertion of the lower throttle member into the upper throttle member for a snap engagement therewith. Selective rotation of the lower throttle member by the user varies the air volume in the water stream. During rotation the lower throttle projections change the size of the air passageways defined by an upper throttle opening to allow more or less air through the passageways. Serrated edges on the upper and lower throttle members prevent rotation of the aerator unless manual force is applied. A slot located on a downstream end of the lower throttle member allows the user to rotate the lower throttle member.

Aerator with variable air input

A shower assembly for use as a stationary shower or a hand-held shower includes a housing, a hose and a shower head. The housing includes a plurality of sides, an inlet, and an at least one outlet where said housing is concealed behind a shower wall adjacent thereto and protects the shower wall from water damage. A hose is freely disposed within the housing having a first end connected to a water supply pipe, a second end connected to the shower head on the exposed side of the shower wall and defining a fluid engagement between the water supply pipe and the shower head. The hose is extractable from a housing outlet when the user pulls on the hose second end during use as a hand-held shower and is retractable into the housing during use as a stationary shower and the hose is concealed from the user's view. The shower head height may also be adjusted to user's desired height.
