Aspects of the invention relate to systems and processes for recovering R1233zd in purified form from compositions additionally comprising hydrogen fluoride. In accordance with one aspect, the invention provides a process that includes separating a feed stream comprised of hydrogen fluoride and R1233zd using azeotropic distillation in a first distillation column to produce a first distillate stream comprised of hydrogen fluoride and R1233zd and a first bottoms stream consisting essentially of hydrogen fluoride. The first distillation column is operated at a first pressure. The process further includes separating the first distillate stream using azeotropic distillation in a second distillation column to produce a second distillate stream comprised of hydrogen fluoride and R1233zd and a second bottoms stream consisting essentially of R1233zd. The second distillation column is operated at a second pressure that may be different than the first pressure of the first distillation column.

Processes and systems for recovering R1233ZD in purified form

A production process for the production of E-1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene, the process including at least one stage during which 1,3,3,3-tetrachloropropene reacts with anhydrous hydrofluoric acid in the liquid phase, in the absence of a catalyst, with an HF/1,1,3,3-tetrachloropropene molar ratio between 3 and 20 inclusive, at a temperature between 50&#xb0; C. and 150&#xb0; C. inclusive and an absolute pressure of between 1 and 20 bar inclusive.

Method for separating organofluorine compounds using membrane

A method for removing a contaminant from a hydrochlorofluoroolefin (such as trans-1,1,1-trifluoro-3-chloro-2-propene (1233zd(E))) includes extracting a chlorofluorocarbon (such as trichlorofluoromethane (R11)) from a mixture comprising the hydrochlorofluoroolefin and the chlorofluorocarbon using extractive distillation in the presence of an extractive solvent comprising a chlorinated compound to form a purified hydrochlorofluoroolefin. This separation method provides for removal of a contaminant, such as R11, from a hydrochlorofluoroolefin, such as 1232zd(E), which are not separable by conventional distillation methods. The method may employ a process utilizing two distillation columns, for example, a first extractive distillation column and a second solvent recovery column, which allows for recycle of the extractive solvent to the first extractive distillation column.

The invention relates to a process for separating monochloro-trifluoropropenes such as HCFC-1233 from azeotrope or azeotrope like combinations with HF. The process employs a cold, liquid phase separations and multiple azeotropic distillation trains.

The invention relates to a process for manufacturing 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf, CF&#x2014;CF&#x2550;CH) from 1,1,3,3-tetrachlororopropene (1230za, CCl&#x2550;CH&#x2014;CHCl) and/or 1,1,1,3,3-pentachloropropane (240fa, CClCHCHCl). The process comprises a step of isomerization of 1,1,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (1230za) to 1,1,2,3-tetrachloropropene (1230xa) followed by conversion of the 1,1,2,3-tetrachloropropene (1230xa) to 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf) via a hydrofluorination process.

Process for the manufacture of hydrofluoroolefins

The present invention provides a process for the manufacture of trans 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (E-1233zd). The first step of the process comprises the fluorination of 1,1,3,3-tetrachlororopropene (1230za, CCh&#x2550;CH&#x2014;CHCh) and/or 1,1,1,3,3-pentaachloropropane (240fa) to a mixture of cis 1233zd (Z-1233zd) and trans 1233zd (E-1233zd). The second step of the process comprises a separation of the mixture formed in the first step to isolate cis 1233zd (Z-1233zd) from the mixture. The third step of the process comprises isomerization of cis 1233zd (Z-1233zd) to trans 1233zd (E-1233zd).

The invention relates to a process for manufacturing 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf, CF&#x2014;CF&#x2550;CH) from 1,1,3,3-tetrachlororopropene (1230za, CCl&#x2550;CH&#x2014;CHCl) and/or 1,1,1,3,3-pentachloropropane (240fa, CClCHCHCl). The process comprises an isomerization step of 1-chloro-3,3,3 trifluoropropene (1233zd, CF&#x2014;CH&#x2550;CHCl) to 2-chloro-3,3,3 trifluoropropene (1233xf or CF&#x2014;CCl&#x2550;CH).

A method for isolating 32 from a crude mixture containing HCl and an azeotropic mixture of 32 and HF is provided without the need to isolate any HF azeotrope.

Liquid phase process for HCFC-123

An azeotrope containing HF and 1233zd is provided, as are methods for separating this azeotrope from mixtures of HF and 1233zd which are HF-rich or 1233zd-rich and methods for making use of the azeotrope and separation methods to improve processes for preparing 1233zd, an intermediate used in the preparation of 245fa. 245fa is a known foam blowing agent and refrigerant.
