A retainer for connecting two panels of a heat shield assembly, the retainer comprising: a central elongate panel having a length l and a width w, a top end, a bottom end and first and second long sides extending from the top end to the bottom end; a first side panel extending along the first long side of the central elongate panel and a second side panel extending along the second long side of the central elongate panel; and wherein reinforcement features are applied to a surface of the central elongate panel.

A piston assembly for a multi-disk system may comprise an adjustor sleeve and a piston configured to telescope relative to the adjustor sleeve. A puck may be located at an end of the piston. The piston assembly may include a multi-layer insulator. The multi-layer insulator may comprise a first insulator layer contacting the puck or the piston, and a second insulator layer contacting the first insulator layer. The first and second insulator layers may each comprise a solid disk.

A rotor disk assembly includes a rotor disk. The rotor disk includes a first rotor lug, a second rotor lug circumferentially spaced from the first rotor lug and defining a slot therebetween. The slot is located on a radially outward portion of the rotor disk and the slot has an undercut engagement portion defined by the first rotor lug and the second rotor lug. The undercut engagement portion is positioned circumferentially on the rotor disk to engage a rotor clip.

The inboard wheel portion may include an inboard rim located opposite of an inboard tubewell. The inboard tubewell may have an inboard mating surface located on an axially outward edge of the inboard tubewell. The inboard O-ring groove may be formed as a partial oval-shaped recess located on an outer edge of the inboard mating surface.

A free-standing safety cap for storing contaminated medical instruments includes a sleeve, a stand on one end of the sleeve and a one-way locking mechanism on the other end. A user places the cap on a flat surface so that it is free standing and, without grasping the cap, inserts the instrument's contaminated sharp end into the cap. The one-way locking mechanism permanently secures the contaminated sharp end inside the cap. The stand can be formed with an opening for accessing the sleeve so that the cap can used for storing both the sterile and the contaminated instrument. This greatly reduces the risk of accidental puncture wounds to the cleaning and waste disposal personnel.

Free-standing safety cap for permanently storing contaminated medical

A free-standing safety cap includes a first compartment for temporarily securing an unused medical instrument and a second compartment for permanently securing a used medical instrument. The instruments have a sharp end, and are fitted with a hub. The first compartment has an opening through which the unused instrument can be removed. A stand supports the cap in a position in which an opening in the second compartment is exposed to receive the used instrument without the user having to hold the cap. A locking mechanism, preferably one-way, is provided for engaging the hub and permanently securing the sharp end of the used instrument inside the second compartment.
