A method for packaging is described for enhancing the attractiveness of an artificial hydrophilic polymeric soft fish bait to fish, comprising: immersing or suspending said soft bait in a package with an aqueous suspension of biological fluids from an animal, the water-soluble fraction of biological fluids from an animal, or an artificial simulated fluid thereof, so that the soft bait absorbs said fluid and an animal odor/flavor components contained therein.

Packaged artificial soft baits

Described is a formulation for delivering fish attractants that sustains the release time as well as provides high coating power. The composition is made with a stable water-in-oil emulsion of petrolatum jelly, a water soluble delivery agent, a thickening agent, and a water soluble fish attractant. These formulations stick well to the exterior surface of artificial lures while allowing the active attractant ingredient to be released slowly into the water. The formulations are also in the form of a soft gel that is easily applied to the surface of a lure by dunking the lure in a wide-mouthed container or squeezing the gel from a conventional container.

Fish attractant

A bait or lure for fish and method of making same. The bait is comprised of a water soluble moldable body having a controlled rate of dispersion in water and a dough or putty-like consistency capable of being formed about a hook. The body is comprised of a cellulose ether and a polyalkylene glycol, such as polyethylene glycol, blended with water in a sufficient amount to form a moldable body of dough-like consistency with a slimy life-like feel when wet.

Fish bait and method of making same

Powdered, high molecular weight, water soluble, membrane film forming polymeric materials are blended with powdered marine life attractants to produce a free-flowing powdered membrane film forming marine life attractant formulation. The formulation can be applied directly to the wet surface of a lure substrate, forming a gelatinous membrane film on the surface of the lure. When the gelatinous membrane film coated lure in immersed in water, an effective track or trail of marine life attractant is gradually released into the water. By careful selection of the polymeric materials, a formulation can be prepared which will produce a slimy textured viscoelastic gelatinous membrane film on a wet surface or a lure substrate.
