Features of guides and surgical implements, which may be utilized together in various assemblies, are disclosed. Surgical implements or other devices within the scope of this disclosure may include a circumferentially grooved knob. The knob may be configured to receive a portion of a guide. Further, a clip may be configured to releasably secure the guide to the surgical implement. The clip may be coupled to the knob, for example, by a strap rotatably coupled to the knob. The knob may also define a stop-ledge configured as an abutment for the guide. The knob may also define a central passageway, which may also be surrounded by a hollow hub, for receiving an additional surgical implement or device.

Surgical implement guide assembly and methods

A drainage or infusion catheter comprises a flexible tube that terminates at the distal portion thereof in an apertured spiroid. The flexible tube has one or more subcutaneous cuffs, affixed at the midportion of the tube, and one or more pairs of opposed offsets of the tube between the proximal end and the distal portion thereof.

Catheter

A peritoneal dialysis catheter having an inflow conduit and an outflow conduit. Each conduits are linearly mated and contoured to cooperatively define a substantially circular cross sectional profile along a medial, trans-abdominal segment, but separating perhaps in radial fashion on either end of the medial, trans-abdominal segment, on a distal end to join fluted fluid transport branches and on proximal ends to join fittings for fluid delivery and collection external of the patient.

Peritoneal dialysis catheter

A peritoneal dialysis catheter with two, linearly mated conduits contoured to cooperatively define a substantially circular cross sectional profile along a medial, trans-abdominal segment, but separating on either end of the medial, trans-abdominal segment, on a distal end to join fluted fluid transport branches and on proximal ends to join fittings for fluid delivery and collection external of the patient.

The present invention comprises a surgical implement guide sized for insertion into and compatible with tissues. The invention includes a hollow shaft formed of a flexible material with memory to return to a predetermined configuration, where the shaft defines a central passageway of variable inside diameter and is adapted to receive a catheter or other surgical tool or instrument. The central passageway terminates in an access opening and allows for insertion and removal of the catheter or tool An elongated tab member having at least one surface or portion thereof which is textured extends from the shaft, and positioned adjacent the access opening, acting as a handle to assist the user in removing the catheter. A tip is included opposite the tab to assist in the insertion of the guide, and thus the catheter or tool.

Guide for surgical device

A multipurpose, flexible cover for medical instruments with a closed-end cover that is optically clear throughout. The transparent cover is used with optical medical instruments such as cameras and lasers. The cover has a closed end that is a homogeneous polyurethane piece folded over itself and sealed along its side edges to form a receptacle to retain the medical instrument. The closed-end portion, which can be associated with a different types of cameras and lasers, is optically clear with surgical clarity.

Optically transparent medical instrument cover

A flexible polyurethane cover with a closed end that is contact clear for establishing sterility while using an ultrasound probe. The cover has gel prepositioned inside the contact clear polyurethane closed end. A drape can be attached to the contact clear cover. A method of making such a cover including folding a contact clear polyurethane sheet over itself and securing the side edges to form a compartment with a closed end, inverting the cover as necessary to position the seams inside the cover, applying a gel into the closed end portion of the cover, and sterilizing the cover without affecting the gel by applying a dry heat in a slow persistent manner after the gel is already in the cover.
