A used cooking oil and grease storage tank is comprised of a plastic material such as, polyethylene. Advantageously, a metal heating element or member is secured to a top cover member of the tank and extends downward into the used cooking all and grease stored with in the plastic tank member. Input and drain connections are also preferably made through the top cover member.

Economical heated grease storage tank

A sorbent material, an activated carbon canister and a method are described which can be utilized to remove organic compounds from a vaporous stream with a relatively greater degree of safety, as compared to previously known methods. In the invention, essentially dry and wetted activated carbon particles are intermixed in a substantially homogeneous mixture which inhibits accidental combustion. The heat capacity of wetted carbon particles retards the heating of nearby unwetted particles, so as to inhibit the ignition of the nearby unwetted particles. The presence of wetted particles intermixed in the substantially homogeneous mixture has relatively little effect on the hydrocarbon adsorption performance of the mixture.

Unsaturated hydrocarbon separation and recovery process

A spraying system to be used on wastewater settling tanks for skimming the top scum layer into a drain. The system includes a spray nozzle that causes the top liquid layer to move in a circular fashion about the center of the tank. The nozzle can be in the form of a wall mounted spray unit that sprays water onto the surface of the contained wastewater. The nozzle can also be in the form of a multiorificed tubular body mounted directly onto the top of the drain trough. Water sprayed from the latter nozzle is directed into the trough and thereby causes a suctioning of the scum layer into the drain. The system can employ either of the nozzles or both nozzles in combination.

Settling tank spray system

The present invention provides for a process for reducing the pour point of a hydrocarbon feedstock containing nitrogen- and sulfur-containing impurities. The hydrocarbon feedstock is contacted with hydrogen and a hydrotreating catalyst under hydrotreating conditions whereby a portion of the nitrogen- and sulfur-containing compounds are converted to hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. A portion of the hydrotreater effluent is then passed to a dewaxing zone and contacted with hydrogen under dewaxing conditions in the presence of a borosilicate-containing dewaxing catalyst.

Process for the manufacture of lubricating oils

The present invention provides for a process for reducing the pour point of a hydrocarbon feedstock containing nitrogen- and sulfur-containing impurities. The hydrocarbon feedstock is contacted with hydrogen and a hydrotreating catalyst under hydrotreating conditions whereby a portion of the nitrogen- and sulfur-containing compounds are converted to hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. A portion of the hydrotreater effluent is then passed to a dewaxing zone and contacted with hydrogen under dewaxing conditions in the presence of a dewaxing catalyst containing a borosilicate molecular sieve on silica-alumina-containing matrix.

The present invention provides for a process for reducing the pour point of a hydrocarbon feedstock containing nitrogen- and sulfur-containing compounds. Specifically, the hydrocarbon feedstock is passed to an extraction zone wherein N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone is used to extract a portion of the aromatic compounds. A portion of the extraction zone raffinate is then passed to a hydrotreating zone wherein a portion of the nitrogen and sulfur containing compounds are converted to hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. Subsequently, a portion of the hydrotreating zone effluent is then passed to a dewaxing zone and contacted with a shape selective molecular sieve containing dewaxing catalyst.

A method for recovering upgraded liquid products by the hydroconversion of coal, coke, lignite, petroleum fractions, biomass, tar sands bitumen and shale oil are disclosed. In particular, the catalyst composition employed consists of a Group VIB metal component and a highly dispersed tin component.

Disclosed is a process for the removal of hydrogen from streams comprising olefinic compounds, such as streams from a polymerization reactor. At least a portion of the olefinic compounds are saturated with a substantial portion of the hydrogen present so as to effectively remove hydrogen from the stream. The saturated material formed can be then separated from unreacted olefinic compounds by use of a membrane separator and the olefinic compounds recycled to a polymerization zone for reaction.
