A protective cover for an insertion probe of a medical instrument. The cover contains a flexible tubular body that compliments the probe geometry and a radially disposed flange that surrounds the proximal end of the body. A series of snap-on fasteners removably connect the cover to the instrument. A camming surface is located on the outer face of the flange which coacts with a cam follower that is movably mounted upon the instrument to flex the cover sufficiently to open the fastener and release the cover from the instrument and move the cover axially toward the distal end of the tip.

A screening method includes controlling a heat source of a screening device to reach a selected temperature, determining a location of a subject, and determining that the location is a desired distance from the screening device. The method also includes based at least in part on determining that the location is the desired distance from the screening device, simultaneously determining a temperature of the subject and a temperature of the heat source using a temperature sensor of the screening device.

Temperature screening systems and methods

A method of determining a temperature of a patient includes determining that a temperature measurement device is located within at least one of a distance range and an alignment range of a portion of a measurement site of the patient, providing an indication to a user of the device that the device is located within the at least one of the distance range and the alignment range, and determining, with the device, a first temperature of a first location on the portion of the measurement site without contacting the patient with the device. Such a method also includes determining, with the device, a second temperature of a second location on the portion of the measurement site without contacting the patient with the device, wherein the second location is different from the first location. Noncontact thermometry systems and methods

A therapeutic wrap includes a flexible member configured to wrap around an affected area. Actuators are operably coupled to the flexible member. Each actuator is operable between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. A first coupling feature is disposed proximate a first edge on a first surface of the flexible member. A second coupling feature is disposed proximate a second edge on a second surface of the flexible member. The first coupling feature is configured to engage the second coupling feature when the flexible member is wrapped around the affected area and when the flexible member is slidably adjusted relative to the affected area. A retaining feature is coupled to at least one end of the flexible member and configured to retain the flexible member in a selected position on the affected area.

Health management system

A thermometer includes one or more temperature sensors mounted on a housing. The one or more temperature sensors determine a temperature of at least one measurement site without contact. The non-contact thermometer displays an indicator to assist alignment of the one or more temperature sensors with the at least one measurement site, receives at least one measurement reading from the at least one measurement site, determines a temperature based on the at least one measurement reading, and displays the temperature on a display unit.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting, by a substance delivery system coupled to a body part of an individual, an input signal not associated with a biological measurement of the individual, determining from the input signal, by the substance delivery system, whether delivering a dosage of a substance stored in the substance delivery system is needed and conforms to a dosage policy, and responsive to determining from the input signal that delivery of the dosage of the substance is needed and conforms to the dosage policy, initiating, by the substance delivery system, delivery of the dosage of the substance to the body part of the individual. Method and apparatus for delivering a substance to an individual

A movement detection device includes a signal transmission device configured to transmit a radar signal transmission toward a target area and to receive reflected radar signals, and a signal analysis device configured to analyze the reflected radar signals to detect a movement in the target area that is indicative of micro-shivering. In response to detecting the micro-shivering, the movement detection device generates an alarm.

A wearable health management system includes a flexible member configured to be worn on an affected area by a patient. At least one actuator is operably coupled to the flexible member. The at least one actuator is configured to be adjusted between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. At least one of a photoplethysmogram sensor and a bioimpedance sensor is coupled to the flexible member to obtain one or more health metrics from the patient. A controller is in communication with the at least one actuator. The controller is configured to adjust the at least one actuator to the deployed state to provide a selected pressure to the affected area.

An example device is configured to capture an image of a patient. The devices includes a camera configured to capture the image of the patient. The device further: captures contextual data associated with the image; allows a caregiver to select the image to be stored; forwards the image and the contextual data to a remote server for processing using artificial intelligence; and receives a proposed diagnosis from the remote server based upon the image and the contextual data.

A method of determining a temperature of a patient includes measuring a first temperature of the patient with a temperature device, and measuring a second temperature of an environment with the temperature device. The method includes determining if a change in the ambient temperature exceeds a threshold. If the change does exceed the threshold, the method also includes applying a correction factor to the first temperature of the patient to account for the change in ambient temperature.

Systems and methods for temperature determination

A patient monitoring device includes a signal transmission device configured to direct a signal transmission toward a target area and to receive reflected signals from the target area, and a signal analysis device having a processing device and at least one non-transitory computer readable data storage device storing instructions, that when executed by the processing device, cause the patient monitoring device to transmit signals, receive reflected signals, and determine a non-contact vital sign measurement based on data from the reflected signals.

A monitoring system that includes an infrared detector comprising a field of view that detects temperature data from the field of view and provides a signal indicative of at least a detected temperature of a subject. The system includes a tab comprising a tab temperature that is positioned within the field of view such that the infrared detector detects the tab and emits a signal indicative of a detected temperature of the tab. The system includes a temperature sensor secured to the tab that detects the tab temperature and provides a signal indicative of a reference temperature. A control unit is communicatively coupled to the infrared detector and the temperature sensor and computes a net value between the detected temperature of the subject and the detected temperature of the tab. The control unit calculates a core temperature of the subject by combining the net value with the reference temperature.
