In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a catheter, the catheter with a distal length extending to a distal end, the distal length configured to indwell a cavity of a patient body. The distal length may include a first lumen extending longitudinally through a lengthwise portion of the distal length, where the first lumen may be at least partially defined by a first inner diameter surface of the distal length. The distal length may include a second lumen extending longitudinally through the lengthwise portion of the distal length, where the second lumen may be at least partially defined by a second inner diameter surface of the distal length. A first fenestration may be disposed through a side wall of the first lumen. A proximal length of the catheter may include a proximal lengthwise portion of the first lumen and the second lumen.

In one general aspect, the present disclosure provides a drainage system. The drainage system may include a container having an interior and a mouth, the mouth having an outer surface and an opening. A frangible seal may cover the opening. A cap may be secured to the mouth, and the cap may be in fluid communication with a drainage line. The cap may have an inner surface for engaging with the outer surface of the mouth. The drainage system may further include a retention ring with a collar having an inner surface configured to engage an outer surface of the cap, where the retention ring includes a bead for at least partially concentrating a restriction force provided by the retention ring on an adjacent area of the outer surface of the cap.

A system for applying a lavage fluid to a surface, the system having a body configured to house a lavage fluid, an application member in fluid communication with the body, the application member being configured to dispense the lavage fluid, and a warming component configured to communicate with the body so as to transfer energy from the warming component to the body sufficient to warm the lavage fluid housed in the body.

A catheter for use in treating pleural diseases, such as pleural effusions and pneumothorax, includes a tip portion that is configured to irritate the pleura when the catheter is inserted in the pleural cavity, thereby initiating mechanical pleurodesis. The tip portion has a substantially rough configuration and may include one or more protrusions that contact the pleura when the catheter is in use, thereby irritating the layers. This irritation causes the creation of fibrous adhesions between the parietal and visceral layers that close off the pleural cavity and prevent further fluid and/or air accumulations that occur as a result of pleural diseases.

Devices and methods for mobile monitoring of a drainage catheter are provided. A device may be configured to perform an operation of rendering a user interface. The user interface may be configured to provide an output interface configured to prompt a user to input catheter use information, catheter use information being information related to using the catheter to drain fluid from the patient. The user interface may be configured to provide an input interface for the user to input catheter use information. The device may be further configured to receive catheter use information input by the user through the user interface. The device may be further configured to generate catheter management information based upon the received catheter use information. A method for mobile monitoring of a drainage catheter may include using a processor to perform the steps the device is configured to perform.

A system for restoring height of a vertebral body with a balloon and stabilizing the vertebral body with bone cement. A delivery tube extends from a handle and may be formed from a flexible polymer and a radiopaque filler. The flexible polymer maintains a patent lumen along a curve so as to receive sequential introduction of the balloon and the bone cement to within the vertebral body at a location offset from a longitudinal axis. The radiopaque filler provides for at least a portion of the delivery tube being radiopaque under fluoroscopic visualization. The radiopaque filler may be barium, and the delivery tube may be constructed from coextruding the flexible polymer with the barium. Visual indicia on the handle may indicate a position of the delivery tube relative to another component of the system such as an access cannula. The visual indicia may indicate a direction of the curve.

Systems and methods for vertebral or other bone structure height restoration and stabilization

System and components for inducing pleurodesis or other sclerosis or desired adhesion conditions to treat a patient, while minimizing likelihood of tissue damage from direct application of sclerosis-enhancing materials. A tube device is provided that is configured to elute sclerosis-enhancing material and/or other medicaments including autologous or otherwise patient compatible blood and/or blood component(s) via an assembly including fenestrated drainage tube which may be a multi-lumen assembly allowing simultaneous infusion/elution and drainage. The assembly of tube device with outer (typically drainage) tube may include one or more features configured to enhance delivery of medicament and/or drainage through the same assembly.

Autologous pleurodesis methods and devices

A system for stabilizing a bone structure. The system includes a guide device and an overlying delivery tube. A distal portion of the guide device is positionable within the bone structure and operable in a straight configuration and a curved configuration relative to a longitudinal axis. The overlying delivery tube comprises flexible polymeric material. The flexible polymeric material facilitates the delivery tube assuming a curve within the bone structure relative to the longitudinal axis when the guide device is in the curved configuration. The flexible polymeric material maintains a patent lumen along the curve when the guide device is withdrawn. The system may include an access cannula configured to penetrate the bone structure, and/or an expandable member insertable through the patent lumen along the curve. A delivery device may deliver curable material through the patent lumen along the curve to a target site within the bone structure.

A device and method for dampening a biopsy device externally or internally. One variation of the external dampening device includes a flexible sleeve provided to cover external surfaces of the biopsy device. The dampening device may also include a device to cover the entire device externally, wherein only a needle portion is exposed. Further in another aspect, a spring constant or spring property of the springs used in the biopsy device may be altered to decrease the noise emitted from the biopsy device. A device and method is also disclosed for dampening a biopsy device internally using an elastic damper at the end portions of any springs that may be used in the biopsy device or at the end of a stroke of certain movable portions inside the biopsy device.

A catheter configured for partial implantation into a patient and drainage of a body cavity may be provided with microtextured surface on one or more inner diameter surfaces and/or outer diameter surfaces of the tubular catheter body. The microtexturing may include surface features dimensioned to inhibit colonization and/or migration of microbes. The microtexturing may also include channels or other recesses containing an antimicrobial agent such as chlorhexidine gluconate or any other effective antimicrobial agent.
