A system for producing photographic prints includes a digital camera, having a memory configured for storing images, and a stand-alone printer. The printer includes a docking port and control devices. The docking port is configured to mechanically receive the digital camera. The control devices are configured to allow selection of an image from the memory of the digital camera, and to initiate printing thereof by the printer. The system and method allow a user to deliver an image captured by the digital camera, either as a hard-copy print or as an electronic file, using controls of the printer device.

System and method for producing photographic prints

Disclosed is a system and method for remote detection and identification of unknown chemical species in gaseous, aerosol, and liquid states. A pulsed infrared laser is directed at an unknown chemical mass which absorbs energy at the laser wavelength. Due to molecular energy transfer processes, the absorbed laser energy can be re-emitted in one or more wavelength regions nonresonant with the laser wavelength. The re-emitted energy is detected for a period of time which is comparable to or less than the characteristic time for the absorbed radiative energy to be dissipated as heat. The nonresonant infrared emission spectrum of the unknown chemical species is detected with several infrared detectors. The identity of the unknown species, as well as its range and concentration, may be established by comparison of its spectrum to that for known species.

System and method for remote detection and identification of chemical

Imaging apparatus for producing the image of a radiating object which exists in a noise-producing background, includes an optical transducer including a focal plane array or radiation detectors. Light collected by a partially filled entrance aperture is relayed to a partially filled focal plane array by relay optics which include one or more variable phase retardation devices. For example, two movable mirrors per dimension driven in push-pull by piezoelectric drives operate as phase shifters. Interference of incident light from separated parts of the entrance pupil at a series of path differences allows the initially distorted image to be dissected into a series of constituent images at several narrow wavelength intervals. The arrangement of the instrument is so chosen that each constituent image carries information about a different region of spatial frequencies. The set of constituent images carries a complete set of spatial frequencies out to a limit much larger than the area of the entrance pupil would ordinarily provide. The detectors in the focal plane are chosen to have a sufficiently wide spectral response to accept all these data. The detectors are arranged at spacings which sample the constituent images adequately for reconstruction. The data collected by the instrument are analyzed by Fourier transformation with respect to imposed path difference by interpolation of detect or samples and by weighting and summing of constituent images.

Imaging apparatus including spatial-spectral interferometer

A sorter for reclaiming particles, such as glass particles, of a predetermined color or transmissivity utilizes a belt conveyor having a longitudinal row of openings over which particles are positioned for being conveyed past a light source and light sensor on opposite sides of the belt to sense the transmissivity, or color of the particles. Glass particles having a predetermined transmissivity are separated by suitable facilities, such as an air jet directed through the openings in the belt.
