A display tube has a getter structure which is clamped in an aperture of the magnetic shield. The getter structure and the screening cap may be of a simple construction and the getter structure can be replaced in a simple manner so that the display tube can be easily repaired. The getter structure is supported by the cone and the inner wall of the shield.

A color selection electrode in a color display tube is suspended in the corners of the upright edge of the tube's display window by means of flat resilient elements pivotally connected to the corners of the color selection electrode. The flat resilient elements are urged against respective supporting elements in the corners of the display window by separate spring elements.

Reference studs on the outside of a cone of a color display tube, against which a system of deflection coils is to be placed, are manufactured from non-ferromagnetic material. The side of each stud which is secured against the cone consists of stainless steel, titanium or a titanium alloy to prevent interference with deflection fields generated by the deflection coils. The studs are secured to the cone by a glue which permits removal if necessary.
