A roller for a roller bearing has a first end surface and a second end surface and a rolling surface between the first and second end surfaces. The first end surface has an at least partially ground profile having a non-constant curvature such as a logarithmic profile. A cage segment is for a rolling-element bearing cage, particularly for large rolling-element bearings. The cage segment includes a first side element and a second side element that are connected by a first bridge and a second bridge. At least one pocket is formed between the first and second bridges which is suitable for receiving at least one rolling element. The cage segment is manufactured from sheet metal.

A bearing assembly includes first and second rolling-element bearings each having first and second bearing rings, a raceway and a flange element at both ends of the raceways. Two of the flange elements are formed on a common flange body, and the flange body is axially pressed onto cylindrical mounting surfaces of the first bearing rings of the first and second rolling-element bearings and held in place by a press fit.
