For a power assisted steering system for vehicles, in particular passenger cars, there is provided a hydraulic circuit with a servopump, a three-way flow regulator valve which is located at the junction between the pump and a servoactuator and has a measuring throttle, located in the inflow to the servoactuator, as a fixed throttle and an outflow throttle which is located in a bypass of the latter and which determines a variable throttle cross section by means of a piston which is charged alternately as a pressure compensator. The piston, which is charged via an active actuator element, changes the outflow throttle cross section as a function of the current applied in order to change the volume flow which passes via the measuring throttle.

A belt spool () for a belt retractor comprises a spool body () which has at least one flange (), a locking disc () which is arranged at an axial end of the spool body, and a torsion rod () having two ends. A vehicle-sensitive sensor for a belt retractor for vehicle safety belt systems, comprises an inertia body displaceable in case of decelerations and accelerations of the sensor, and a two-armed lever. A first arm of the two-armed lever forms a coupling pawl, and a second arm of the two-armed lever is able to be engaged by the inertia body such that, in case of a displacement of the inertia body, the lever is pivoted so that the coupling pawl is directed into a clutch toothing.

A belt retractor for a vehicle safety belt comprises a frame, a belt spool rotatably mounted in the frame, a locking catch arranged on the belt spool, a locking mechanism adapted to pivot the locking catch between an initial position and a locking position, a locking disc and a locking toothing. The locking toothing is arranged on the locking disc. The locking catch when in the locking position engages into the locking toothing of the locking disc so that the belt spool is locked with respect to the locking disc. The locking disc is connected to the frame by means of a holding device which allows a rotation of the locking disc relative to the frame only after a predetermined torque has been exceeded.

A blocking mechanism for a seat belt retractor has a belt reel (10) rotatably mounted in a frame (12), a ratchet toothing (16) arranged on the frame, a ratchet pawl (24) arranged on the belt reel (10) for cooperation with the ratchet toothing (16) and an inertial disc (20) used as a belt webbing-sensitive sensor element. The inertial disc (20) is rotatable relative to the belt reel (10). The ratchet pawl (24) is pivotally mounted on the inertial disc (20). The belt reel (10) has an actuating element (26a) engaging the ratchet pawl (24). In operation, the actuating element (26a) causes the ratchet pawl (24) to engage with the ratchet toothing (16) when the belt reel (10) is rotated relative to the inertial disc (20).

Blocking mechanism for a seat belt retractor

A linear drive for a belt tensioner comprises a pyrotechnic propellant charge, a cylinder tube and a piston displaceably arranged therein. The propellant charge, upon ignition, provides a pressurized gas acting on the piston. The piston has a hollow interior adapted to be subjected to the pressurized gas and an axial end at which an end wall is provided. The end wall has a bursting disc arranged facing the interior of the piston and a through opening formed by a stepped bore. The stepped bore has a first section facing the interior of the piston and is provided with an edge facing the interior, and a second section adjacent the first section. The second section has a diameter which is smaller than a diameter of the first section. The bursting disc abuts at the edge of the first section of the stepped bore.

A linear drive for a belt pretensioner is provided. The linear drive includes a cylinder tube with a hollow inner space, a pyrotechnic drive charge which generates a pressurized gas, and a piston able to be displaced in the inner space of the cylinder tube under the action of the pressurized gas. The piston has a hollow interior space and an axial end having an end wall. The end wall has a passage opening which is closed by a blow-out patch.

According to the invention, a belt retractor comprises a frame and a belt reel provided with a longitudinal axis and a peripheral surface. The belt reel is rotatably mounted in the frame and is provided with an interior cavity which is coaxial with the longitudinal axis. The belt reel is further provided with a slot having a minimum width and extending in parallelism to the longitudinal axis. The slot is open towards the peripheral surface of the belt reel and towards the interior cavity. The belt reel further comprises a rod extending coaxially through the interior cavity with a radial play. The belt retractor further comprises a belt webbing connected to the belt reel with one end section having an end. The end section extends through the slot, around the rod and finally through the slot out of the interior cavity. The end of the end section is provided with a thickened part having a width which, as measured in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis, is larger than the minimum width of the slot.

In a belt tensioner for vehicular seat belt restraining systems the belt reel (16) of a belt retractor is caused to rotate by a linear drive unit via a step-up gear. The linear drive unit comprises a burstproof cylinder tube (42) closed off at both ends and a hollow piston (44) shiftable therein. Within said hollow piston a pyrotechnical propelling charge (50) with an igniter (52) is accommodated. The belt tensioner is distinguished by its compact configuration, low weight and low-cost production as well as by the linear drive unit being safe to handle.

The belt retractor with a belt pretensioner acting on the belt drum (12) has a pyrotechnical piston and cylinder linear drive (22). A rack (32) adapted to be subjected to thrust is connected with the piston (28) of such linear drive (22). The rack (32) is able to be drivingly coupled with the belt drum by the intermediary of a step-up gear wheel transmission (34, 36, 44). After tensioning of the belt, tensions in the safety belt system are limited by plastic deformation of a torsion rod (38), and peak strain values are decreased. The belt retractor is integrated with the belt pretensioner and the energy converter as a compact assembly.

On a belt retractor for vehicular seat belt restraining systems having a vehicle and belt sensitive automatic blocking mechanism (26) for the belt reel (12) rotatably mounted in the housing (10) the pawl tooth of a locking pawl (18) first coming into contact with the locking toothing (16) is formed as the control tooth (181). A control link (22) of the locking pawl (18) exhibits a radial stroke which is dimensioned so that the locking pawl (18) is swivelled by the control cam (24) up to first contact of the control tooth (181) with a tooth flank of the locking toothing (16) past which it is further swivelled unsubstantially at the most. After initial contact of the control tooth (181) with a tooth flank of the locking toothing (16) a torque is exerted by rotation of the belt reel on the locking pawl (18) as a result of which the locking pawl (18) is forced to swivel up to positive interlock of the pawl teeth (182, 183) with the locking toothing (16).
