A rail for use as a movable rail in an architectural structure covering is disclosed. The rail may include a cord guiding insert for mounting at an end of the rail.

Rail for an architectural opening covering

An architectural covering, comprising a rail and a repositionable handle assembly. The rail has a groove. The assembly comprises a handle with a hole for receiving a fastener, and a fastener receiving member. The fastener receiving member is free to slide along the groove when in an undamped state. A fastener is also provided for mechanically connecting the handle to the fastener receiving member and for clamping the handle and the fastener receiving member in a desired position on the rail.

Architectural covering with repositionable handle assembly

A retractable covering such as a door or window blind or shade has a top rail, a bottom rail, a covering material extending between the top rail and the bottom rail, at least two lift cords extending downwardly from the head rail to the bottom rail for supporting the bottom rail, a covering operating system for enabling retraction and deployment of the covering, and an adjuster connected to at least two of the lift cords. The adjuster is preferably mounted in the bottom rail. The retractable covering also comprises an individual cord tensioner for allowing at least one of the lift cords to be individually tensioned. The individual cord tensioner operates independently of the adjuster. A method of adjusting the orientation and drop height of the bottom rail of the retractable covering is also provided.

A covering for an architectural opening comprising: a rail; a covering material, attached to said rail; at least two cords for guiding, supporting and/or lifting the covering material, the cords extending through the rail; and at least one weight disposed within the rail; characterised in that the rail comprises a longitudinally extending front portion, a longitudinally extending rear portion and a longitudinally extending central portion disposed between the front portion and the rear portion, and wherein said at least one weight is positioned at a location remote from the central portion.

A one-piece bracket for mounting the headrail of a covering for an architectural opening comprises a generally L-shaped piece having a system for retaining the headrail on the bracket and restricting movement of the headrail on the bracket.

A cord tensioner for the guide cords of a cord-guided window blind with movable rails holding a blind material. The cord tensioner, located at one of the rails, is a helically wound, extension spring with an integral extension limiter, extending axially through the spring, to prevent it from being overextended.

A two-part mounting device for attaching a free end of a guide cord of a window covering to a window frame. The device includes a base that can be secured to the frame and a holder which can be attached to the free end of the cord. The holder and the free end of the guide cord can be moved, relative to the base, in opposite directions, by sliding the holder in either one of the opposite directions while the holder and base remain engaged. The holder and base can also be disengaged by sliding the holder in one of the opposite directions. The device also includes a ratchet and pawl mechanism.
