Techniques for enhancing performance in Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) scenarios, including techniques for time-sensitive networking (TSN) and 5G wireless network integration. An example method, performed by a wireless device, comprises receiving system information (SI) from a radio base station (RBS) of a radio access network (RAN), the SI being indicative of support for TSN through the RBS, and establishing at least one TSN stream with an external data network, through the RBS. The example method further includes receiving a first timing signal from the wireless communications network, via the RBS, receiving a second timing signal from the external TSN data network to which the wireless device is connected, comparing the first timing signal to the second timing signal to determine an offset, and transmitting the offset to the wireless communications network.

Industrial automation with 5G and beyond

A method performed by a user equipment, UE includes obtaining a Sounding Reference Signal, SRS, configuration from a network node and determining an SRS waveform and transmitting the SRS waveform. The SRS waveform is adapted for positioning based on the SRS configuration to have a full bandwidth within a bandwidth applicable for the SRS waveform.

Methods and apparatuses for positioning based on the sounding reference signal

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, a method in a wireless device is provided. The wireless device is configured to communicate with a network node. The wireless device receives an extended signal transmitted by the network node. The extended signal includes a base signal and at least one additional signal. The wireless device estimates a time of arrival, TOA, based on the extended signal.

A method, network node and wireless device for position reference signal (PRS) design by extending a base signal are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method in a wireless device (WD) includes obtaining extended reference signal, RS, configurations from the network node. The method also includes determining a waveform associated with the extended RS. The method also includes detecting a RS and estimate an associated time of arrival. The method further includes sending a measurement report to the network node based on the estimated time of arrival.

PRS design by extending the basic signal

Systems and methods for configuring and generating Narrowband Positioning Reference Signals (NPRS) for NB-IoT are provided. A network node provides (NPRS) configuration information indicating a system frame number (SFN) dependent resource mapping. A wireless device obtains a NPRS in accordance with the indicated SFN dependent resource mapping and uses it to perform a radio measurement operation.
