A turbocharger, with a turbine for expanding a first medium, a compressor for compressing a second medium utilising energy extracted in the turbine during expansion of the first medium. A turbine housing and a compressor housing are connected to a bearing housing. A casing radially and axially surrounds the turbine housing, the compressor housing, and/or the bearing housing at least in sections, which is connected to the respective housing via multiple fastening devices. At least some of the fastening devices extend through a wall of the casing into the housing include metallic damping elements made of wire on opposite sides of the wall of the casing through which the same extend.

Turbocharger

A casing of a turbocharger, which surrounds a housing to be encased such as a turbine housing and/or a compressor housing and/or a bearing housing of the turbocharger at least in sections, with axial casing segments, which axially adjoin the housing to be encased, with at least one radial casing segment, which radially adjoins the housing to be encased radially outside, and at least one stiffening element is formed or acts on at least one casing segment.

A turbine for a turbocharger, for expanding a medium, with a turbine rotor, having a turbine housing with an insert piece, which runs radially outside of the adjoining blades of the turbine rotor. The insert piece at an upstream end, includes a first flange and a second flange at a downstream end. The insert piece, in a middle section, which extends between the first flange and the second flange, has an approximately constant thickness.

Turbine and turbocharger

A burst protection device for a gas radial turbo engine configured annularly around a central axis in the circumferential direction and like a box in a cross sectional direction, to grip a turbine housing in the area of the turbine wheel. The burst protection device includes at least one axial wall section extending in an axial direction and at least one radial wall section extending in the radial direction are indirectly interconnected via an intermediate wall section lying in between. A partial area of the intermediate wall section in the axial direction runs inclined and/or curved relative to the orientation of the axial wall section and radial wall section.
