The invention relates to a non-heated humidification device comprising a wick; a chamber for holding water in contact with the wick; and a gas inlet to the chamber, wherein the chamber and wick are configured to humidify gas passing through or over the wick at ambient conditions. The device may be modular and attachable to a flow generator. The device may comprise dual gas circuits and a control system for controlling the gas flow through the gas circuits in order to control the humidity of the gas output.

Humidification device and system

A humidification system has a humidification source and a main gases flow path. The main gases flow path has a low pressure region and a high pressure region. In some embodiments, each of the low pressure region and the high pressure region has an aperture. The pressure difference between the apertures promotes a gases flow between the main gases flow path and the humidification source, and results in humidifying the gases in the main gases flow path.

Humidification system

A respiratory system including a dual outlet blower. One of a first and a second outlet of the blower provides a flow of gases to one of a pair of nasal outlets of a nasal interface and the other one of the first and second outlets provides a flow of gases to the other one of the pair of nasal outlets of the nasal interface. In an alternative embodiment, one of the first and second outlets provides a flow of gases to a nasal outlet of an oro-nasal interface and the other one of the first and second outlets provides a flow of gases to an oral outlet of the oro-nasal interface.

In accordance with one aspect the present invention may comprise a regenerative blower comprising: a housing, a first port and second port in the housing, an airflow channel extending between the first and second ports for airflow between the ports, an impeller rotatable in an impeller channel to promote airflow in the airflow channel from the first port to the second port, a motor to drive the impeller, and an interrupter between the first and second ports to limit airflow from the second port to the first port.

Regenerative blower

A lightweight impeller is provided for use in a pressurised gas source for a CPAP or other breathing assistance apparatus. The impeller can be shroudless or otherwise lightweight.

This invention relates to a blower for a breathing apparatus. The blower comprising a bottom support with a stub axle, a top support with a stub axle, a motor core comprising a motor stator and rotor, and an impeller coupled to the motor core via a shaft, the shaft is rotatably coupled at a first end to the stub axle on the top support and at a second end via the stub axle on the bottom support.

A fan unit that forms part of a gases supply unit used as part of a breathing assistance system for providing heated gases to a user. The fan has an impeller surrounded by an upwardly sloped surface to facilitate improved airflow performance under surge conditions.

A breathing assistance apparatus has a pressurised gases source featuring a lightweight impeller with a plastic shaft. The impeller is shroudless. The plastic shaft is supported within the stator by a bearing structure. The resilient motor mount couples the stator and the housing and provides compliance and/or damping for the motor.

The operational parameters of a respiratory apparatus can be controlled through the use of a user interface located on a separate or separable mobile computing device. Sensors or features located on the mobile computing apparatus can be used to adjust the operation parameters or therapy of the respiratory apparatus or otherwise improve the compliance of a patient utilizing the respiratory apparatus.
