A switch, in particular a low-voltage circuit breaker, in plug-in technology includes a withdrawal shaft to move the switch from an operating position into a removal position; a force store including a storage spring unloaded during withdrawal; and an unlatching shaft which, as the circuit breaker is withdrawn, is configured to rotate into an unlatching position, unloading of the storage spring taking place when the unlatching shaft is in the unlatching position. To permit unloading of the force store during the withdrawal, the unlatching shaft includes a driver element, spaced radially apart from its axis of rotation and configured to rest in a sliding manner on an outer contour of a rotatably mounted cam disk. The withdrawal shaft and the cam disk are connected via a connecting element which transforms the rotation of the withdrawal shaft into a corresponding rotation of the cam disk and therefore, of the unlatching shaft.

An electronic trip unit for an electrical switch is disclosed which has at least one electrical connection, and which can be mounted in an electrical switch and in the mounted state interoperates with the latter for the purpose of tripping the switch and where, with the electrical switch in its built-in position, the mounted trip unit has at least one front surface facing towards the front, at least one rear surface facing towards the rear and side surfaces, and whereby with the trip unit in its mounted state at least one of the side surfaces is freely accessible, and where the electrical connection is located on one of the freely accessible side surfaces of the trip unit.

An apparatus for tripping an electrical switch is disclosed, which includes a selective tripping device and a power-storing mechanism. The electrical switch can be tripped by the selective tripping device by way of the power-storing mechanism.

In order to control a power semiconductor which can be triggered into conduction by pulses of one polarity and quenched again by pulses of the opposite polarity, by transmitting such pulses via a transformer to the power semiconductor connected at the secondary side of the transformer, such a pulse is formed by turning on a first transistor connected between one pole of a voltage source and a tap which divides the primary winding of the transformer into two partial windings, and by selectively turning on either one of second and third transistors each connected to the ends of a respective partial winding, and such a pulse is terminated by switching off the first transistor, while maintaining on the selected second or third transistor in order to cause the demagnetization current of the transformer to flow through the selected transistor and through a Zener diode connected between the tap of the primary winding and the other pole of the voltage source, the anode side of the first Zener diode being connected to the tap of the primary winding.
