A multi-layer polymer film comprising at least one middle layer A, the polymeric constituents of which are soluble in aqueous solution, and at least one substantially water-impermeable covering layer B or C arranged above and/or below the at least one middle layer A, wherein the layers A, B and C independently of each other in each case comprise at least one thermoplastic polymer and at least one of the covering layers B and C comprises at least one polyhydroxyalkanoate. Processes for the production of the multi-layer polymer film according to the invention and its use for the production of molded parts, films or bags are furthermore presented and described.

Biodegradable multi-layer film

A film is shown and described which contains 10 to 50 wt. % of a component A and 50 to 90 wt. % of a component B, based on the sum of the components A and B, component A being selected from the group consisting of polymers that are obtainable from ring-opening polymerization and have a glass transition temperature (Tg) lower than −30° C. and component B being selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic aliphatic copolyesters and mixtures thereof, and the film having a total thickness of 1 to 200 μm.

Biologically degradable film

A multi-layer polymer film comprising at least one middle layer A, the polymeric constituents of which are soluble in aqueous solution, and in each case at least one substantially water-impermeable covering layer B, C arranged above and below the at least one middle layer A, wherein the layers A, B and C independently of each other in each case comprise at least one thermoplastic polymer and at least one of the covering layers B and C comprises at least one polyhydroxyalkanoate is presented and described. Processes for the production of the multi-layer polymer film according to the invention and its use for the production of molded parts, films or bags are furthermore presented and described.

A method for the production of a polymer material is shown and described, which is characterized by: a) producing a mixture containing at least 1 to 75 wt.-% starch and/or starch derivative, 10 to 85 wt.-% polyester, and 0.01 to 7 wt.-% of a polymer containing an epoxy group; (b) homogenizing the mixture while supplying thermal and/or mechanical energy; (c) setting the water content of the mixture, so that the end product has a water content less than approximately 12 wt.-%, in relation to the total composition of the mixture. The polymer material produced with the method according to the invention is characterized by outstanding mechanical properties.

Polymer material and method for the production thereof

A multilayered film is shown and described that is used in particular for packaging, which comprises at least one first layer A and at least one second layer B, wherein layer A contains thermoplastic polyester and layer B contains thermoplastic starch. The multilayered film according to the invention is characterized by excellent barrier properties, low sensitivity to moisture, and good mechanical strength.

Multilayer film and method for manufacturing same

A thermoplastic polymer material containing starch is shown and described, which can be obtained by homogenizing a mixture containing 40 to 85 wt.-% starch and/or starch derivative, 15 to 55 wt.-% softener, and 0.01 to 7 wt.-% of a polymer which contains an epoxy group, while supplying thermal and/or mechanical energy and setting the water content of the mixture to less than approximately 12 wt.-%. The polymer material according to the invention is characterized by outstanding mechanical properties.
