This invention is related to a rolling element assembly that can be integrated into a telescopic arm segment assembly, comprising a pair of auto-adjusting rolling elements, that assume their optimal mounting position between two concentric telescopic arm segments, as they are spring-loaded by the presence of a connecting spring element. The final adjustment and fixation of the rolling elements (comprising each a pair of rollers) can then be subsequently be performed with high precision.

A radiation image capturing system includes a processing unit that determines at least three distances between at least one first distance sensor provided at a radiation generation unit and at least three second distance sensors provided at a detection unit based on one or more signals emitted by the first distance sensor, and that determines an orientation of the radiation generation unit and the detection unit relative to each other based on inclination information provided by a first sensor unit provided at the radiation generation unit and a second sensor unit provided at the detection unit. Radiation image capturing system and method

An X-ray system includes an X-ray source and/or an X-ray detector, at least two guide rails, and at least one carriage on which the X-ray source and/or the X-ray detector is mounted. The carriage includes first guide wheels and second guide wheels, and a drive unit including drive wheels and a motor drive that drives the one or more drive wheels. The first guide wheels move between at least two different positions relative to the carriage. In a first position, the drive wheels are in a lifted position such that the carriage is moveably mounted on the guide rails via the first and second guide wheels. In a second position, the first guide wheels disengage from the guide rails while the drive wheels engage with the guide rails such that the carriage is moveably mounted on the guide rails via the second guide wheels and the drive wheels.

X-ray system and method for operating an X-ray system

A system for reading out X-ray information stored in a phosphor layer, includes: a read-out unit having components for irradiating the phosphor layer with stimulation radiation which can stimulate the phosphor layer to emit emission radiation dependent upon the X-ray information contained in the phosphor layer, and for collecting the emission radiation stimulated in the phosphor layer; and a carrier onto which the read-out unit is mounted. At least one of the components of the read-out unit is mounted onto the carrier over at least one first bearing which has a translatory degree of freedom in a first direction. The first bearing enables movement of the at least one component in relation to the carrier in the first direction.
