A colour display tube 1 has a shadow mask 12 in a supporting frame 20. The supporting frame comprises at least two sides 22 which bend when the temperature increases. This causes the distance between the shadow mask and the display screen to change. An improvement of 'overall doming' is possible.

A color display tube is set forth comprising a color selection electrode which is suspended from supporting elements in the corners of the display window of the color display tube. The suspension elements used to suspend the color selection electrode from the supporting elements comprise a resilient element which encloses an angle .alpha. with the normal to the center of the display window. The angle .alpha. (in degrees) is defined by:

A color selection electrode is suspended in a color display tube from pins which are provided in the corners of the display window. The suspension means comprise a resilient element which is secured to the color selection electrode, and a slide plate slidably secured relative to the flat resilient element rigidly secured to the pin. During the suspension the position of the color selection electrode is adjusted, and the slide plate is rigidly secured to the resilient element.

A color selection electrode in a color display tube is suspended in the corners of the upright edge of the tube's display window by means of flat resilient elements pivotally connected to the corners of the color selection electrode. The flat resilient elements are urged against respective supporting elements in the corners of the display window by separate spring elements.

A color selection electrode (7) is suspended from the corners of the upright edge (3) of a display window (2) by means of resilient elements (25) which extend substantially perpendicularly to the electron beams deflected towards the corners. The resilient elements (25) have apertures (28) with which the resilient elements (25) are placed on mandrils (31). The mandrils (31) are embedded in the corners of the upright edge (3) of the display window (2) perpendicularly to the planes of the resilient elements (25). A screening cap for screening the electron beams from the earth's magnetic field is connected on the mandrils (31) in such manner that the screening cap exerts no pressure on the resilient elements (25).

A color selection electrode (7) is suspended in the corners of the upright edge (3) of the display window (2) by means of strip-shaped resilient elements (25) which extend substantially perpendicularly to the electron beams deflected towards the respective corner of the display window. The resilient elements (25), at their ends remote from the color selection electrode (7), comprise a peg (27) the axis of which extends substantially parallel to the direction of the electron beams directed towards the respective corner. In the corner of the upright edge (3) of the display window (2) a supporting element (30) is connected which comprises a portion (32) which is provided with an aperture (33), which portion (32) extends substantially perpendicularly to the axis of the peg (27). The pegs (27) fall partly through the apertures (33). A screening cap for screening the electron beams from the earth's magnetic field in the sleeve is connected to the supporting element (30) thus exerting no pressure on the resilient elements (25).

A cathode ray tube construction and more particularly a supporting structure for the color selection electrode of a color television tube. The color selection electrode is formed with a frame member to the outer periphery of which is secured a mounting strip which engages a stud formed as part of the envelope. The mounting strip is formed with a lug portion which limits movement of the frame and a second portion which extends into the aperture of the frame allowing for easy insertion and removal of the frame.
