The invention relates to a process for recovering monoalkylbenzene from a gas stream comprising oxygen and monoalkylbenzene, wherein the gas stream comprising oxygen and monoalkylbenzene is contacted with a liquid stream comprising a naphthalene compound. Further, the present invention relates to a process for preparing alkyl phenyl hydroperoxide incorporating said monoalkylbenzene recovery.

Process for recovering monoalkylbenzene

The invention relates to a process for removing poly(propylene oxide) from propylene oxide by membrane separation, wherein a membrane having an average pore size of from 0 to 5 nm is used. In said process, a liquid feed comprising propylene oxide and poly(propylene oxide) may be separated by the membrane into a permeate comprising propylene oxide and either no poly(propylene oxide) or poly(propylene oxide) at a concentration which is lower than the poly(propylene oxide) concentration in the feed, and a retentate comprising propylene oxide and poly(propylene oxide) at a concentration which is higher than the poly(propylene oxide) concentration in the feed.

Process for the removing poly(propylene oxide) from propylene oxide by membrane separation

Process for improving the quality of a propylene oxide contaminated with poly(propylene oxide), which process comprises the steps of: (a) contacting the liquid propylene oxide with an adsorbent consisting of magnesium silicate and/or calcium silicate under such conditions that the amount of poly(propylene oxide) is reduced to the desired level, and (b) recovering the purified propylene oxide product.
