An apparatus serves a plurality of user equipments in a wireless communication system. For transmitting/receiving data of a plurality of user equipments, which include at least a first user equipment and a second user equipment, on resources shared by the plurality of user equipments, the apparatus transmits/receives a first data signal of the first user equipment and second data signal of the second user equipment using a non-orthogonal multiple access, NOMA, scheme. The first data signal and the second data signal are modulated using different waveforms prior to superposition of the first and second data signals.

Communicating data of a first user equipment and data of a second user equipment on shared resources of a wireless communication system

A device for communicating in a wireless communication network to transmit transmission information by transmitting a wireless signal in a random access channel of wireless communication network includes a wireless interface configured for transmitting the wireless signal and a control unit configured for providing the wireless signals so as to include a random access preamble. The control unit is configured for selecting the random access preamble/that the random access preamble is associated with the transmission information.

Data-centric event-based random access procedure

A user equipment, UE, for a wireless communication network including one or more base stations, performs a transmission to a base station using a grant-free, GF, transmission scheme. The transmission being performed in accordance with a GF transmission configuration. The UE receives from the base station a certain signaling. The certain signaling indicates that the base station failed to identify the UE from the transmission. Responsive to the certain signaling from the base station, the UE retransmits the transmission in accordance with a GF retransmission configuration. The GF retransmission configuration is different from the GF transmission configuration.

ARQ/HARQ-related procedure for grant-free random access

A user device, UE, and a base station, BS, for a wireless communication system is described. Each is using a transmission scheme on a radio resource, and is to determine one or more parameters of a radio channel associated with the radio resource, and to adapt the transmission scheme by selecting an additional radio resource on the basis of the determined one or more parameters. Parameter based adaption of a transmission scheme on a radio resource

A wireless communications network includes a base station configured for operating a wireless communications network cell of the wireless communications network so as to provide communication in a plurality of slots. Each slot includes a plurality of associated physical resources. The wireless communications network includes at least one transmitter configured for transmitting a signal in the wireless communications network cell by mapping the signal into a number of part signals and for transmitting the number of part signals with a corresponding number of associated slots using a corresponding number of sets of physical resources, each set containing at least a subset of the associated plurality of physical resources of the slot. Each set of physical resources is received at the base station shifted with a set-individual offset and with respect to a synchronized start of the slot.

Resource-staggered coded multiple access

A base station for a wireless communication network is provided. The wireless communication network includes a plurality of base stations, each base station to serve one or more users. One or more users are served by a plurality of base stations to receive a first data signal from the base station and a second data signal from at least one further base station using multi-user superposition transmission, MUST. The base station includes a backhaul interface for a communication with one or more of the plurality of base stations of the wireless communication network. For transmitting the first data signal to one or more users served by the base station and by the further base station, the base station is configured to negotiate a MUST setting with the further base station via the backhaul interface, and map data of the first data signal using a first transmit constellation set according to the negotiated MUST setting.

Concepts for transmitting data to one or more users

A wireless communication system includes a first transmitter and a second transmitter. For a transmission or reception of data of a first user equipment and data of a second user equipment on resources shared by the first user equipment and the second user equipment, the first transmitter is configured for a superimposed non-orthogonal multiple access, NOMA, transmission or reception of a first data signal of the first user equipment and a second data signal of the second user equipment, and the second transmitter is configured for a superimposed non-orthogonal multiple access, NOMA, transmission or reception of a third data signal of the first user equipment and a fourth data signal of the second user equipment.

Joint transmissions of data in a wireless communication system using a non-orthogonal multiple access transmission scheme

A user equipment for operating in a wireless network, wherein the wireless network utilizes a first number of resources for serving communicating UEs, comprises a wireless interface for communicating in the wireless network; and a controller configured for selecting, for communicating in the wireless network, from a second number of predefined subsets of the first number of resources, at least one subset. The second number is larger than the first number and the second number of predefined subsets is based on a mapping of the first number of resources into the second number of subsets using an Euler-square mapping.

Signature-domain multiplexing for non-orthogonal multiple access

The transmission of data signals transmitted by a plurality of transmitters may be rendered more efficient by combining multi-user superposition coding with appropriate phase shift estimation at the receiver so that phase shift compensation at the transmitter's side may lead to a superposition of the data signals which may be demapped correctly so as to obtain information data per data signal. Owing to the combination, the concept is applicable to typical uplink situations or downlink situations of separate contributing BSs: contrary to the simple downlink situation where the data signals stem from one BS and are superimposed in one domain, namely the base station's domain, the data signals to be superimposed stem from separate transmitters, such as user entities or mobile terminals in the typical uplink situation, or different base stations in the downlink situation.
