A method is provided for displaying information in an elevator arrangement including an elevator car that is movable, as controlled by an operating panel, between landing zones that communicate traffic to and from the elevator car through a doorway, and one or more light sources. In the method, visible objects are defined for guiding traffic of the elevator arrangement. A destination landing zone is obtained by the operating panel. A current occupancy and current destination landing zone of the elevator car are determined. The light sources are set to illuminate at least one of the defined visible objects on a remote surface on the basis of the determined current occupancy and current destination landing zone of the elevator car and the destination landing zone obtained by the operating panel.

Displaying visible objects for guiding traffic in elevator arrangement

An elevator car arrangement includes an elevator car body and an elevator car sling. The elevator car arrangement further includes a hanging damper arranged to connect the elevator car body and the elevator car sling together for dampening vibrations coming from guide rails through the elevator car sling to the elevator car body. The hanging damper includes a first part connected to a bottom part of the elevator car body; a second part connected to the elevator car sling; and a damping element arranged to dampen vibrations coming from the second part to the first part. A method for dampening vibrations coming from guide rails through the elevator car sling to the elevator car body is disclosed.

An elevator includes an elevator car, a counterweight and suspension roping, which connects the elevator car and counterweight to each other, and which suspension roping includes one or more ropes, which include a load-bearing composite part, which includes reinforcing fibers in a polymer matrix. The elevator car and the counterweight are arranged to be moved by exerting a vertical force on at least the elevator car or on the counterweight. The elevator includes a device separate from the suspension roping for exerting the force on at least the elevator car or on the counterweight.

An elevator arrangement includes a plurality of elevators in a building, which plurality includes a plurality of zoned elevators moving in an elevator hoistway, which have different ranges of movement of the elevator car in the building to each other, and which zoned elevators each have a top limit and a bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car, to above the top limit and to below the bottom limit of which range of movement travel of the elevator car of the zoned elevator in question is prevented. The vertical location, in relation to the building, of the top limit and/or bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car of each aforementioned zoned elevator can be changed. The arrangement also comprises a lobby elevator, the range of movement of the elevator car of which differs from the ranges of movement of the elevator cars of the aforementioned zoned elevators, and the stopping floors of the lobby elevator comprise a plurality of lobby floors, each of which is a stopping floor of one or more zoned elevators belonging to the aforementioned zoned elevator plurality. A method is provided for re-adjusting the elevator arrangement, wherein the range of movement of the elevator car of the zoned elevator in question is changed to reach to a different height in the elevator hoistway by changing the vertical location in relation to the building of the top limit and/or the bottom limit of the range of movement of the elevator car of the zoned elevator in question.

Elevator arrangement and method for re-adjusting the elevator arrangement

A method of constructing an elevator, the elevator including a hoistway, an elevator car, a first movable support structure in the hoistway above the elevator car, for supporting the elevator car with a roping, and a roof structure, separate from the movable support structure, in the hoistway above the support structure, where the elevator car is used for transporting passengers and/or goods, and thereafter the first movable support structure is lifted higher in the hoistway, and thereafter the elevator car is used again for transporting passengers and/or goods. The method includes lifting the roof structure higher in the hoistway so as to make more room below the roof structure, the roof structure being a movable roof structure, and in that the movable roof structure is lifted in the hoistway taking support for the lift from a second movable support structure mounted in the hoistway above the roof structure.

Method and an elevator arrangement

An elevator includes at least one elevator car and a counterweight which are at least partly suspended on hoisting ropes and a drive machine driving a traction sheave engaging the hoisting ropes for moving the elevator car along guide rails in an elevator shaft, which elevator further includes a compensation rope. The compensation rope is led upwards to an upper part of the elevator shaft and from there aside to a balancing area located aside of the travel paths of the car and counterweight. This solution is particularly adapted for high travel elevators facing horizontal forces during operation as e.g. ship elevators. Collision of compensation ropes are avoided in the area below the car and counterweight paths which could affect the elevator safety when subjected to high horizontal forces, e.g. during rough sea.

Method and arrangement in the manufacture of an elevator, which includes during construction time an elevator hoistway, an elevator car, hoisting roping, a supporting structure including a plurality of support elements movable between a position extended from the supporting structure towards the side and a position retracted towards the supporting structure, and a platform. A plurality of lifts are performed, in each of which lifts the supporting structure is lifted higher up in the elevator hoistway, while the support elements are in the retracted position, after which the support elements are displaced into the extended position and the supporting structure is lowered to rest on top of the structures of the building supported by the support elements in the extended position for the vertical support of the supporting structure in the elevator hoistway, and between lifts the elevator car is used for transporting passengers and/or freight between floors.

The invention relates to an elevator having a car and guide rails along which the car is guided along a hoistway between landings of the elevator, the car comprising: a frame, upper and lower guide elements, which are mounted to said frame at a vertical distance from each other, and exactly one elevator cabin with a cabin floor, in which elevator the cabin is&#x2014;in travel direction of the car&#x2014;movably connected to the frame between an uppermost and a lowermost position. By this means a high travel comfort can be obtained with economic space usage at the top and bottom of the hoistway.

A call-giving device for giving an elevator call for an elevator includes a touch-sensitive display having at least one touch detection area. The call-giving device is configured to: detect a first gesture performed in the at least one touch detection area; register a call to a floor according to a floor marking in response to detecting a touch meeting call-giving criterion on the touch-sensitive display at a point corresponding to the floor marking; and present, on the touch-sensitive display, registration data associated with the registered call, the registration data indicative of registered floor calls that have not yet been served by the elevator.

The present invention provides a solution for optimizing the transport capacity of an elevator system. For optimizing the transport capacity the elevator system dynamically locks floors served by it on the basis of defined locking rules. When a floor is locked, that floor can not be considered a designation floor or receive elevator calls.

An elevator may include an elevator car, a set of hoisting ropes, a traction sheave, and a compensating device. The set of hoisting ropes may include first and second rope portions. The elevator car may include one or more first diverting pulleys from which the first rope portions extend upward. The second rope portions may be under a second rope tension that is different from the first rope tension.
