The invention relates to a surveillance system for an infrastructure and/or for a vehicle, including at least two sensor modules configured to collect respective sensor data from respectively associated sensors; at least one access module being configured to access the sensor data; and a clock module being configured to provide a common time signal at least to two of the sensor modules; wherein the sensor modules are configured to provide the sensor data with a time stamp, wherein the time stamp is based on the common time signal; and the access module being configured to forward the accessed sensor data by taking into account the time stamp so as to provide an enhanced surveillance and/or maintenance system which is suitable for large and/or complex infrastructures, vehicles, and combinations thereof.

Modular surveillance system for an infrastructure and/or a vehicle

The invention relates to a surveillance system for an infrastructure and/or for a vehicle, comprising at least two sensor modules configured to collect respective sensor data from a respective associated sensor; an analysis module configured to access the sensor data; wherein the sensor modules are configured to provide the sensor data with a time stamp; and the analysis module is configured to detect a given event based on sensor data of at least one first sensor module and to associate sensor data of at least one other second sensor module with the event based on the time stamps of the sensor data to provide an enhanced surveillance and/or maintenance system, in particular a system suitable for large and/or complex infrastructures, vehicles, and combinations thereof.

Methods and apparatus for locally changing a roll gap in the region of the strip edges () of a rolled strip () in a rolling stand (). The roll gap can be changed locally in the region of the strip edges () of the strip () during the hot rolling. Locally changing the roll gap in the region of the strip edges of a rolled strip

A computer determines a thickness and/or a temperature of a metal strip. The computer determines the temperatures occurring along a respective rotation part of the respective surface elements of the rotary elements and a rotary element shape which forms in the region of a draw-off point on the respective surface element, by a respective rotary element model and using an exchanged enthalpy quantity, the respective contact time with a metal and a respective cycle time exchanged per time unit of a respective rotary element of a casting device with the environment thereof. The temperature of the metal situated in the die region, and the heat flow from the metal to the respective surface element, are determined by a respective metallurgical solidification model and using a metal temperature, the temperatures of the surface elements, the rotary element shape and characteristic metal values.

Modelling of a cast rolling device

A current temperature is ascertained for sections of a strip ahead of a first mill stand. The temperatures of the strip sections are predicted with a prediction horizon corresponding to multiple strip sections, including when each strip section is milled in the first mill stand for which time a nip profile formed by the working rolls is predicted. A control parameter for milling a specific strip section in the first mill stand is ascertained for controlling a control device of the first mill stand. A manipulated variable curve for the control device, influencing the nip profile of a nip formed by working rolls of the first mill stand, is set for the prediction horizon and optimized for the predicted nip profile and a desired profile. The current value of the optimized manipulated variable curve corresponds to the control parameter which is fed to the control device as the manipulated variable.

Control method for mill train

Molten metal poured into a mold region, delimited by a first casting roll that rotates about a first rotational axis, produces a metal strand upon solidification which is conveyed out of the mold region. A liquid coolant is applied to the surface of the first casting roll by a first cooling device via first coolant lines and first coolant applying devices. The coolant is inert with respect to the molten metal and has a standard boiling point below 20&#xb0; C., e.g., &#x2212;20&#xb0; C., at normal air pressure, and an operating temperature at or below an operating boiling point at an operating pressure at which the coolant is supplied. A control device automatically controls the first cooling device by ascertaining a control state of the first cooling device using a target property for an actual property of the first casting roll or the metal strand detected by at least one sensor.
