A force sensor has an input part, a base part, an intermediate part and a sensor element. The external force to be sensed is applied to the input part. The input part transmits the external force to the base part via the intermediate part. The base part is fixed to a frame of reference and exerts a reaction force on the input part via the intermediate part. The intermediate part deforms as a result of the external force and the reaction force. The deformation of the intermediate part causes the input part to change its position or orientation relative to the base part. The sensor element senses this change and supplies an output signal representative of the change.

Two dimension external force sensor

A linear actuator comprising a spindle, a spindle nut, a transmission, an electrical motor, and an actuation element, is arranged to linearly move the actuation element by means of an interaction of the spindle and the spindle nut, which interaction is being driven by the electrical motor through the transmission. A position of the actuation element, the relative position between spindle and spindle nut, is determined by means of an absolute rotary position sensor and a counter. The counter keeps track of the number of under-flows and over-flows the absolute rotary position sensor generates during movement of the actuation element. A combination of a value from the absolute rotary position sensor and a count from the counter determines the position.

Linear actuator

Linear actuator device, comprising a housing (), a piston rod (), an electrical motor () and a transmission means () adapted to transfer the rotation of the electrical motor to a linear movement of the piston rod, where the linear actuator device comprises an integrated electrical interface having two signal inputs adapted to extend and retract the piston rod and two signal outputs adapted to indicate a retracted end position () and an extended end position () of the piston rod.

The advantage of the invention is that linear actuators with a high energy density can be manufactured in an easy and cost-effective manner.

Linear actuator device, comprising a housing (), an externally threaded screw (), a piston () and an internally threaded extended nut (), where the extended nut () comprises a plurality of longitudinal segments () having longitudinal edges () parallel to a center axis () of the internally threaded nut (), where each segment () has an identical radius of curvature and an angle of curvature of less than 360&#xb0;, so that the circumference of the internally threaded nut () is formed by at least two segments (). One advantage of the invention is that linear actuators of different lengths can be manufactured in an easy and cost-effective manner.

Disclosed is a rotational speed sensor comprising a rotatable ring. The rotational speed sensor has K magnetic pole pairs distributed angularly over the rotatable ring. Also, sensors are positioned relative to the rotatable ring such that a varying magnetic field is detected. The sensors comprise a first pair being positioned 2&#x3c0;L/K radians apart. The sensors further comprise a second pair being positioned 2&#x3c0;M/K radians apart. The first pair of sensors and second pair of sensors are positioned at a relative position of (2&#x3c0;/K)*((2n&#x2212;1)/2 radians. L, M are integers between one and K and n is an integer greater than one.
