An actuator including a housing accommodating a screw mechanism and a drive including a motor. The screw mechanism includes a nut and a screw, one of which is rotatably supported with respect to the housing. Upon relative rotation of the nut and the screw, linear movement of one of the nut and the screw is obtained. At least a rotatable component of the drive, for example, the rotor of the motor, is rotatably supported on the screw which is rotatably supported with respect to the housing.

Compact actuator

A continuously variable transmission system comprises a continuously variable transmission having two pulley sets each with two discs defining a V-shaped groove, drive means-for varying the width of said groove and a belt extending between said-pulley sets in the grooves thereof, as well as a forward-reverse control connected to the shaft of one of the pulley sets and a clutch connected to said forward-reverse control, said pulley sets, forward-reverse control and clutch each being provided with a respective actuator. The actuators of the forward-reverse control and of the clutch are of an electromechanical type.

Continuously variable transmission system

A screw actuator which has a housing, a motor, an actuating member and a screw mechanism which provides a linear movement of the actuating member with respect to the housing in response to a rotational movement of the motor. The screw mechanism has a screw and a nut engaging each other by rolling elements, one of the screw or the nut is rotatbly supported with respect to the housing, and a reduction gear means. The nut is fixed with repect to the housing, and the screw is rotatably supported with respect to the housing by mean of rolling elements.

Screw actuator, and brake caliper comprising such actuator

A bearing is provided including a first part provided with a first coil ( ) and a second part rotatable with respect to the first part about a bearing axis and being provided with a second coil which is electromagnetically coupled to the first coil. The first and second coil are magnetically enclosed by a first covering and a second covering, respectively. The first covering is fixed to the first part and the second covering is fixed to the second part. An air gap is formed between facing ends of the first and second coverings, with at least one of the facing ends of the first and second coverings being provided with at least one recession, such that the air gap varies when the first part and second part rotate with respect to each other. This may be used to provide an indication of speed (bearing rotation) without further sensors. Next to contactless transmission of power or data signals, the coupling between the first and second coil vary to provide a signal representative of the relative rotational speed of the first part of the bearing with respect to the second part.

Bearing with integral transformer

A pulley set for a continuously variable transmission unit, comprises a pair of discs accommodated on a shaft, and a screw mechanism which is concentric with respect to said discs and for moving the discs towards and from each other, said discs enclosing a V-shaped groove, for accommodating a belt, said screw mechanism being controllable by a control means. The control means including a motor unit, said motor unit comprising a stator and a rotor, one of said stator and rotor engaging the nut of the screw mechanism, and the other of said stator and rotor engaging the screw of the screw mechanism.

Continuously variable transmission unit

A system for controlling an assembly of an electrical motor and a rotation-translation converter is provided. The rotation-translation converter is connected to the electrical motor. The electrical motor is energized with a predetermined current for obtaining a torque to overcome an internal friction of the rotation-translation converter. The current is increased until the electrical motor provides a total torque. The total torque is converted by the rotation-translation converter into a predetermined force on an object or into a displacement of the object. The object is moveable by the rotation-translation converter. The system may also reduce the current through the electrical motor after reaching the predetermined force to a predetermined current value. Under this predetermined current value, the predetermined force on the object remains substantially equal.

Electric actuator with control sensor, and disc brake comprising such actuator

An actuator for use in a brake caliper is situated at opposite ends of a screw mechanism. A reduction gear mechanism is located at a distance from the actuating member. The reduction gear mechanism is included in a reduction gear module and a screw mechanism is contained in a screw mechanism module, which are interconnected through a drive module. The drive module may be located at the end of the reduction gear module facing away from the screw mechanism module. The modules may be axially aligned or at least two modules may be axially shifted or eccentric with respect to each other. The screw mechanism module may comprise an angular contact bearing which may be supported in a housing in different ways. The reduction gear module may be part of a planetary gear system.
