The present application relates to an apparatus for processing a food stuff. The apparatus has a housing (), and a cutting tool () rotatably mounted in the housing () having a cutting edge () and a trailing edge (). The cutting tool () is arranged to pass once per revolution through a processing region () in the housing in which a food stuff is receivable, and to pass through a recovery region (). The recovery region is defined in the housing between the trailing edge passing from the processing region and the cutting edge passing into the processing region as the cutting tool rotates, and the cutting tool is free to rotate in the processing region without contacting the food stuff. Therefore, the cutting tool () acts on a food stuff as the cutting tool rotates through the processing region, and recovers the rotational speed lost due to acting on a food stuff in the processing region as the cutting tool () rotates through the recovery region. The present application also relates to a food processor and to a method of processing a food stuff.

Apparatus and method for processing a food stuff

A blender system () has a container () for holding material to be blended. The container () has a first portion () with blade member assemblies (). The assemblies () are rotationally driveable around axes of rotation (). The container has a second portion () with a guiding surface (). A cross-section () of the guiding surface () which encloses said axes of rotation is a convexly shaped closed curve (). The direction of the cross-sectional curve () is continuously varying direction along the perimeter of the guiding surface ().

A blender system () includes a base () and a container (). A cutter assembly () and a feeder assembly () are accommodated in the container () near the base (). The feeder assembly () has a feeder blade () with a tip () at a distal end of the feeder blade (). The cutter assembly () has a cutter blade () with a tip () at a distal end of the cutter blade (). A very effective blending process is obtained by driving the feeder tip () at a lower peripheral speed than the cutter tip ().

A food processor () with two bowls (), which are of different constructions and each comprise a bottom wall () and a tubular inner portion () rising from the bottom wall () into the bowl interior, comprises two transmission pieces () which are preferably of different constructions and by means of which the formation of an inadmissible combination of a bowl () and a tool (), which can be introduced into the bowl () and is associated with one of the bowls (), can be prevented in a simple manner.
