Resveratrol compositions

The present invention is directed to a formulation of a lipophilic health ingredient comprising a lipophilic health ingredient, a protective colloid comprising a modified starch and an emulsifier. The present invention is further directed to a formulation of (a) lipophilic health ingredient(s) comprising (a) lipophilic health ingredient(s) and a protective colloid, wherein said protective colloid is a modified starch, characterized in that the formulation has a residual moisture content &#x2266;6.5 weight-%, based on the total weight of the formulation, as well as to a process for their manufacture. The latter formulations are especially suitable for the preparation of stable tablets of these lipophilic health ingredients.

Tablettable formulations of lipophilic health ingredients

A process for the production of cross-linked beadlets containing one or more active ingredients selected from the group of a fat-soluble vitamin active material, a carotenoid and a polyunsaturated fatty acid is provided. The process comprises treating a dry particulate form at a temperature in the range of from 90&#xb0; C. to 140&#xb0; C. for a time period of from 30 seconds to 30 minutes or from 1 minute to 10 minutes or from 3 minutes to 7 minutes.

Novel, stable, cold water dispersible preparations of fat-soluble substances contain a microbially produced oil rich in arachidonic acid. These preparations are manufactured by preparing an aqueous emulsion of the microbially produced oil which has been stabilized with an antioxidant and fish gelatin and if desired converting this emulsion into a dry powder. The preparations in accordance with the invention can be used for human nutrition.

Water dispersible compositions

The invention is concerned with a flowable dry particle consisting of at least one oleophilic substance as the active ingredient present in a matrix of at least one carrier material and a coating. The coating consists of calcium silicate or of a mixture of calcium silicate with one or more mixture components, with the mixture components being microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium silicate, magnesium oxide, stearic acid, calcium stearate, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, kaolin and/or hydrogenated vegetable oil.
