A system for converting fuel and air into reformate with a reformer which has a reaction space, a nozzle for supplying a fuel/air mixture to the reaction space, and a fuel feed for supplying fuel to the nozzle. In the reaction space, there is a breaker body for a fuel/air mixture supplied through the nozzle.

Atomizing burner for a heating device of a vehicle

A heating device, especially a motor vehicle heating device operated by means of liquid fuel, has a vaporization burner with an absorbent body that can be acted upon by liquid fuel. To effect equalization of heat distribution and fuel pretreatment, there is provided a cover of a high temperature and corrosion resistant sheet steel. The cover has a plurality of openings and covers at least a major portion of that surface of the absorbent body which faces a combustion chamber of the heating device. When the absorbent body has a through-opening to promote vaporization of the liquid fuel, the cover likewise can have a through-opening coordinated thereto, thus exposing the through-opening.

Heating device operated by means of liquid fuel

A heating device, particularly an automotive heating device, in which a noise muffling device is integrated within the heating device. The muffler can be provided in the combustion pipe defining the combustion chamber, or the combustion pipe, itself, can be designed as the muffler. The muffler operates by absorption and/or reflection sound muffling techniques in accordance with various embodiments, and may, simultaneously, purify the combustion gases, for example, by catalytic afterburning, and/or by filtering of soot particles. The muffler is arranged in a hot zone, but not in the flame area of the combustion chamber, to achieve a self-cleaning action. In other embodiments, noise muffling material is arranged in an exhaust gas collection chamber to achieve sound muffling based on reflection and/or absorption and/or other conventional sound reduction methods.
