Both the upper and the lower support and guide are each formed by a plurality of parallel, tensioned wires, between which through-openings for the needles are arranged. The wires of the upper and lower support and guide are immovable in the conveying direction of the needlepunching machine.

The stripper plate or stitching plate for a needling machine comprises a plurality of opening arrangements, wherein each opening arrangement comprises at least one opening for accommodating needles of a needle row of a needle board of the needling machine. The output conveyor belt of a crosslapper for holding and conveying layers of card web laid to form a nonwoven is configured as an endless slatted belt with a plurality of transverse slats. The transverse slats comprise support surfaces for the nonwoven, which are formed by fibers or bristles projecting from the transverse slats.

The cross lapper for forming a nonwoven fabric from a fiber web includes in its infeed area a smooth cover belt or an array of linear elements spaced a certain distance apart and arranged parallel to each other to cover the fiber web being carried along on the upper run of a first web conveyor belt. The first end section of the cover belt or of the array of linear elements is connected to the upper carriage of the cross lapper. During operation of the cross lapper the fiber web moves along the bottom surface of a cover section of the cover belt or of the array of linear elements. The cross lapper comprises a compensating mechanism to compensate for the changes in the length of the cover section which occur as the upper carriage moves transversely back and forth.

The needle module for mounting in receptacles of a needle board of a needling machine comprises a plurality of module segments. Each module segment comprises a segment head and at least one needle, and the segment head is equipped with the at least one needle. The needle module also comprises a guide element extending in a longitudinal direction of the needle module. In an adjustment state of the needle module, the module segments are connected to the guide element, and at least one module segment is movable along the guide element.

The device for the guided transport of a card web comprises a card web transport having an endless outside surface for conveying the card web in a conveying direction, and a guide element, which is arranged opposite a section of the outside surface of the card web transport and facing the outside surface of the card web transport, has a surface profile which comprises a plurality of elevations and depressions alternating in a direction transverse to the conveying direction. The elevations and depressions extend in the conveying direction of the card web. The elevations form guide surfaces for the guidance of the card web and the depressions form vent grooves for conducting away the entrained air carried along by the card web. The device for conveying a fiber web comprises a transport device, which serves as a support for the fiber web, and which is driven by a drive in a transport direction at a speed of at least 50 m/min. The transport device has a rough surface and carries along the fiber web resting on the transport device by force of friction. An array of linear elements arranged above the transport device serves to cover the fiber web resting on the transport device. The linear elements have a smooth surface, and the fiber web is carried along the bottom surface of the linear elements. The linear elements are arranged next to each other but spaced apart in a direction transverse to the transport direction.

A method for homogenizing the stitching pattern in a needled fleece requires a detector which is arranged between a first needling device and a second needling device and detects areas in the fleece where stitches are absent. Then the fleece needled by the first needling device is also needled in the second needling device, wherein at least one operating parameter or at least one structure parameter of the second needling device is adapted specifically on the basis of the result of the detection of the absent-stitch areas, so that, during the further needling of the fleece in the second needle machine, the absent-stitch areas are filled in a targeted manner.

A method for actuating a needle bar in a needling machine includes the actuation of a first oscillating drive at a first frequency, the first oscillating drive having a main conrod connected directly or indirectly to the needle bar, and simultaneously the actuation of a second oscillating drive at a second frequency, the second oscillating drive having a secondary conrod connected directly or indirectly to the needle bar, the movements of the needle bar produced by the first and second oscillating drives being superimposed on each other and the second frequency being higher than the first frequency.

The feed device for supplying individualized fibers or fiber flocks to a transport device, which serves to transport the formed fleece or fiber flock mat onward, includes a plurality of feed segments arranged horizontally next to each other and a plurality of individually actuatable feed rollers, wherein a separate feed roller is assigned to each feed segment. In addition, at least one driven opening cylinder, which cooperates with each feed roller, is also provided.
