In a device and method for determining a contact between a tool and a workpiece, which are displaceable relative to each other, the tool or workpiece being rotationally fixedly connected to a shaft, the device includes a measuring arrangement including a measuring scale rotationally fixedly disposed on the shaft and at least one position encoder disposed in a stationary manner relative to the shaft, and a processing device. The position encoder is adapted to scan the measuring scale and to generate position values indicating a position of the shaft. The position values are fed to the processing device, which determines contact between the tool and the workpiece by evaluating a progression of the position values and signals the result of the evaluation by the status of a displacement signal.

Device and method for determining a contact between a tool and a workpiece

An angle measuring device includes first and second component groups and a bearing. The first component group includes a scale element having a first graduation. The second component group has a first modular unit, including a position sensor, and a second modular unit, including first, second, and third position transducers, and a compensation coupling. The first and second modular units are connected in a torsionally stiff but axially and radially flexible manner. The angle measuring device is operable in first and second modes. In the first mode, the first graduation is scannable by the position sensor to determine a first angular position. In the second mode, the first graduation or a further graduation situated on the scale element is scannable by the position transducers to determine further angular positions. A corrected relative angular position is determinable based on the first angular position and the further angular positions.

Angle measuring device and method for operating an angle measuring device

A measuring device for a spindle or for a rotary table includes at least two first and second position sensing elements and a scale element, having a first and second graduations and being rotatable about an axis of rotation relative to the position sensing elements. The first graduation includes regular structures arranged in parallel next to one another along a first direction, having a directional component in the circumferential direction. The second graduation includes regular structures arranged in parallel next to one another along a second direction, having a directional component in the axial direction. The first position sensing elements are offset from one another in the circumferential direction, and are able to scan the first graduation so that the position of the scale element in a plane having an orthogonal orientation to the axis of rotation is determinable. In addition, at least one of the first position sensing elements is able to determine an angular position of the scale element in relation to the first position sensing elements in absolute terms within and across a rotation. The second position sensing elements are offset from one another in the circumferential direction, and are able to scan the second graduation, and the axial position of the scale element is able to be determined.

Measuring device for a spindle or a rotary table

An angle measuring device includes first and second component groups and a bearing. The first component group includes a scale element having first and second graduations. The second component group has a first modular unit, having a position sensor, a second modular unit, having first to sixth position transducers, and a compensation coupling. To determine the relative angular position between the component groups, the first graduation is scannable with the aid of the position sensor. Using the first to third position transducers, the first graduation or a further graduation disposed on the scale element is scannable to determine a displacement of the scale element in a plane. Using the fourth to sixth position transducers, the second graduation is scannable to determine tilting of the scale element about a tilting axis, the position sensor being situated in a torsionally stiff but axially and radially flexible manner relative to the position transducers.

Angle measuring device

An angle measurement system includes a first component group, a second component group, and bearing elements arranged between the component groups. A gap extends at an axial extension between a first component and a second component so that the components are disposed along both sides of the gap relative to each other without coming into contact. An annular first body is mounted on the first component, which is disposed without contact in relation to the second component group. The second component includes a section, which is separated by a radial gap and is located radially outside and across from a region of the first body that extends in the axial direction, and the first body is situated radially outside and circumferentially about the axis in relation to the bearing elements. The first body is able to hold lubricant. Alternatively or additionally, a corresponding annular second body is fixed in place on the second component.

Angle measurement system

An angle measuring system includes a first component group and a second component group, the first component group being mounted in a manner allowing rotation about an axis relative to the second component group. The first component group includes a ring having a running surface and an angle scaling. The second component group has a further ring having a further running surface, as well as a sensor for scanning the angle scaling. Rolling elements are arranged between the running surfaces, the angle scaling being applied such that a geometric pattern of the angle scaling in a first region differs from a geometric pattern of the angle scaling in a second region as a function of radial runouts of the running surfaces and/or of the rolling elements.

Angle measuring system and method for producing an angle measuring system

An angle measuring system includes a first component group and a second component group, the first component group being mounted so as to be rotatable relative to the second component group. The first component group includes a ring having a running surface and an angle scaling. The second component group has a sensor for scanning the angle scaling as well as a printed circuit board having an electronic circuit for evaluating sensor signals producible by the scanning. The second component group furthermore includes a solid ring, on which another running surface is situated and which has a first recess for accommodating the circuit board and a second recess for accommodating an electrical conductor. The conductor connects the sensor electrically to the electronic circuit situated at a distance from the sensor.

Angle measuring system

An angle-measuring device includes a first group of components and a second group of components that are rotatable relative to each other about an axis. The first group includes a carrier element for enclosing a shaft and on which a graduation disk is secured, a connecting element, and a device for affixing the connecting element relative to the carrier element. The second group includes a sensor element for scanning the graduation disk. The carrier element and the connecting element are arranged such that the connecting element is able to be brought into operative connection with the carrier element so that torque is transmittable with positive locking between the connecting element and the carrier element about the axis. The connecting element is able to be brought into a positive-locking position by axial displacement by the device for affixing the connecting element, and is able to be prestressed radially against the shaft.

Angle-measuring device

An annular body has an angle scale for measuring the rotational position of a machine part about an axis, the body having recesses and projections on its inner circumference, and at least one of the recesses being suited for a form-locking rotatably fixed attachment on the machine part. The sum of the central angles, which are respectively defined by starting points and end points of the projections is smaller than the sum of the central angles, which are respectively defined by the starting points and end points of the recesses. Such a body on a high-speed shaft of a machine tool may be used for measuring the rotational position of the shaft.

In a gear system and a rotary transducer provided with the gear system, the gear system includes a first part, a convex toothed wheel, a supporting body, relative to which the first part and the convex toothed wheel are rotationally mounted, and engaging elements which mesh with the toothed wheel according to the rotational position of the first part. The engaging elements carry out a movement with a radial directional component relative to the toothed wheel. A force with a tangential directional component is applied to the toothed wheel, the force being the result of the interaction between the engaging elements and the supporting body.

A gear mechanism includes a rotating input element, a rotating output element, and at least one first force transmission device arranged along a spiral line on a face of the input element. A second force transmission device is arranged along an encircling line on a face of the output element. The interaction of these force transmission devices transmits a turning moment from the input element to the output element, whereby this turning moment effects a rotating motion in the output element so that the rotational speed is lower than the rotational speed of the input element. A rotary encoder may be equipped with a gear mechanism of the aforementioned type.

In an angle-measurement system and a method for producing an angle-measurement system, the angle-measurement system includes a bearing assembly and a scanning head, the bearing assembly including a graduated ring, an outer ring and rolling bodies. Rolling surfaces are formed both on the graduated ring and the outer ring, the rolling surface of the graduated ring having a smaller path radius than that of the outer ring. Furthermore, the rolling surface of the outer ring is arranged opposite the rolling surface of the graduated ring, and the rolling bodies are disposed between the two rolling surfaces such that the bearing assembly is free of radial play. In addition, an angle scaling is applied directly onto the graduated ring such that a geometrical pattern of the angle scaling in a first region deviates from a geometrical pattern in a second region as a function of rotational eccentricities of the bearing assembly. The angle scaling is able to be scanned by the scanning head.

Angle-measurement system and method for production of an angle-measurement system

A coupling is for the connection, that is radially elastic but torsion resistant, of two component parts. The coupling includes base elements and a plurality of tabs formed integrally with the base elements at node areas. Each tab has two support points that are at a distance from one another in the circumferential direction. The node areas form the connection of the tabs to the base elements. Both the node areas and the tabs are configured such that they are flexurally softer than the base elements.
