A manipulator-guided folding (hemming) tool () includes a frame () having a preferably roller-shaped folding element () and a connection () for connecting to a manipulator (), and a detecting device () for the loads that occur during folding. The detecting device () has an indicator () for the loads, which indicator is arranged on the folding tool (). The indicator is preferably designed as an optical indicator and is arranged in a tool area that is visible during folding.

Folding device and folding method

A hemming device () and a hemming method are provided in which the hemming device () has a hemming bed () for a workpiece () and multiple hemming robots () with hemming tools (). The hemming device () is designed to hem inner and outer lock seams () on both sides of the workpiece (). The hemming robots () lie on different sides of the hemming bed (), and the hemming bed () is further designed and arranged for accessing inner and outer lock seams () on both sides of the workpiece () from front and rear sides (). For this purpose, the hemming bed can have a section () for a rearward access to an inner lock seam () and a bedding for inner and outer lock seams ().
