A method, a control circuit, and a power converter arrangement are disclosed. The method includes: coupling three power converters () with each other; connecting each of the three power converters () to a 3-phase power source () configured to provide three supply voltages (Ua, Ub, Uc); and regulating a respective input signal (V, V, V; I, I, I) of each of the three power converters () dependent on a common mode signal (Scm).

Method of operating a power converter arrangement, control circuit and power converter arrangement

Disclosed is a method and apparatus. The method includes detecting an operating state of a current source converter that comprises a current source rectifier (), a current source inverter (), and an inductor circuit () connected between an output (p, n) of the current source rectifier () and an input (q, r) of the current source inverter (); and dependent on the detected operating state, operating the current source converter in a first operating mode or a second operating mode. Operating the current source converter in the first operating mode comprises operating the current source rectifier () in a 2/3 mode and operating the current source inverter in a 3/3 mode, and operating the current source converter in the second operating mode comprises operating the current source inverter () in the 2/3 mode and operating the current source rectifier in the 3/3 mode.

A monolithically integrated bidirectional switch includes: an output terminal; a control terminal; a compound semiconductor substrate; a common drift region in the compound semiconductor substrate and in series between the input terminal and the output terminal; a first gate; and a second gate. The first gate is electrically connected to the control terminal and the second gate is electrically connected to the input terminal, or one of the first gate and the second gate is a normally-on gate and the other one of the first gate and the second gate is a normally-off gate. In either case, the monolithically integrated bidirectional switch is configured to conduct current in a single direction from the input terminal to the output terminal through the common drift region. A corresponding power electronic system that uses the monolithically integrated bidirectional switch is also described.

A power conversion method is disclosed. The method includes operating a PFC converter configured to receive three input voltages and provide a DC link voltage between DC link nodes in one of at least two different operating modes, and operating an SR converter coupled to the PFC converter via the DC link nodes in one of at least two different operating modes dependent on an output voltage of the SR converter. Operating the SR converter includes regulating a voltage level of the DC link voltage dependent on a DC link voltage reference, and the at least two different operating modes of the SR converter include a buck mode and a series resonant mode.

The invention relates to an inductive component having a planar conductive track structure. The planar conductive track structure is surrounded along a predetermined section by a ferromagnetic core. For targeted control of the current flow inside the planar conductive track structure and, in particular, of the current density in the cross-section of the planar conductive track structure, gaps are provided in a targeted manner in the ferromagnetic core. The gaps in the ferromagnetic core are arranged in regions above and/or below the planar conductive track structure.

A multiphase converter topology is used for the transmission of electrical energy from an AC voltage input with m grid phase connections to a DC voltage output or vice versa. The AC voltage filter has alternating voltage filter stage(s) with m+1 input connections, m+1 output connections and a ground connection. A method for operating a power converter is described. The power converter includes three input nodes each configured to receive a respective one of three input voltages, two DC link nodes configured to provide a DC link voltage, and a midpoint coupled to each DC link node. Three inductors are each connected to a respective one of the three input nodes. A rectifier bridge including three bridge legs are each coupled to a respective one of the three inputs through a respective one of the three inductors and connected to the respective one of the three inductors at a respective switch node. Each bridge leg is connected to the two DC link nodes and the midpoint, and includes at least one electronic switch. The power converter is operated in a reduced switching mode by deactivating at least one of the three bridge legs for a predefined time period.
