A part of an electric contact is specified, which is formed from a sheet, is constructed in the shape of a box, has at least four side walls and is assembled in such a way that there is located in one side wall a seam a which opposite edges of the sheet abut one another. The opposite edges are of counterbalanced configuration, and two projections are provided on the edge, and two recesses on the edge. A depression in the shape of half a spherical cap is located on the edge between the recesses. Depressions in the shape of half a spherical cap are arranged on the edge in the projections. The arrangement is intended to prevent the two edges from overlapping by virtue of a lateral effect of force.

A receptacle terminal comprises a conductor connection section and a contact section for receiving a male tab terminal therein. Reversely bent pairs of contact arms extending from forward and rearward ends of a cover wall are provided. Free ends of the contact arms rest upon a ledge struck from side walls of the contact section for prestressing the contact beams. The latter increases the contact pressure of contacts against the mating male tab terminal whilst nevertheless reducing the mating insertion forces thereof. The reversely bent-in and opposed contact arms provide for a compact design with a large number of contact points thereby enabling passage of high electrical currents.

A terminating sleeve for optical waveguides, having disposed at its distal end an optical waveguide insertion opening leading into an optical waveguide receiving channel disposed in the longitudinal direction in the terminating sleeve, the terminating sleeve being formed integrally with a coupling means disposed at the proximal end and serving for coupling and uncoupling light, the optical waveguide receiving channel extending from the optical waveguide insertion opening up to the coupling means and the terminating sleeve inclusive of the coupling means being made from an optically transparent material.
