The winding for an electric machine comprises transposed bars having at least four stacks of strands. Couples of stacks of strands define elementary transposed bars. The winding comprises at least two stacks of cooling pipes in each transposed bar, each stack of cooling pipes being arranged between two stacks of strands, and at least one crossover transposed bar in which the sides of the elementary transposed bars are exchanged.

A stator winding of a directly cooled turbogenerator comprises directly gas cooled double Roebel bars is arranged as active parts in slots of a stator body. Each double Roebel bar has two single Roebel bars, which includes each a stack of a plurality of transposed individual strands, and are separated by an intermediate stack of cooling tubes. Mounting space is saved by constructing, for the compensation of stray field voltages, at least one double Roebel bar as a cross-over bar with the strands being transposed over the stack of cooling tubes in the middle in order to change the sides of the single Roebel bars along the active part.

Apparatus for producing electrical power from mechanical power, includes an electric generator with a rotor and with a stator. The electric generator is configured for conversion of mechanical power into a polyphase alternating current. The polyphase alternating current has more than three phases. The stator has a stator core with a stator bore. The stator core provides a plurality of stator slots arranged at a distance from one another. A plurality of coil portions are inserted in the stator slots, and the coil portions are connected to form coils. The coils include a plurality of Z-shaped portions and are laid out in a wave pattern.

Winding bars of AC machines include a multiplicity of mutually electrically insulated conductor elements, which are transposed according to the Roebel principle. The conductor elements in the two end clip sections and in the active part section are transposed with one another. In order to achieve virtually perfect field compensation in the winding overhang, the conductor elements in the two end clip sections have a transposition of between 60.degree. and 120.degree.. In the active part section, either an incomplete transposition is provided, i.e. the transposition in the active part section is uniform and less than 360.degree., or, given a complete 360.degree. transposition in the active part section a void, i.e. a nontransposed section, is provided in the center of the active part, while the transposition in the active part section outside this nontransposed section is a uniform 180.degree. transposition.

Transposed stator winding bar with extended field compensation

A method and an apparatus for the detection of the current distribution in at least one conductor (W1, W2) of an electric machine are specified, which indirectly permit, in a simple manner, the metrological determination of said distribution. The conductors or Roebel bars (W1, W2) are arranged in a slot (4) of a stator laminate stack (3) of the electric machine and each has a plurality of mutually electrically insulated and transposed conductor elements (W1nl, W1nr; W2nl, W2nr). A probe holder (6) which can be displaced radially with regard to the electric machine and contains, in recesses, 2 magnetic field probes (M1, M2) with a predeterminable center-to-center distance (d) is provided, adjacent to these conductors (W1, W2) in a probe channel (17) within the slot (4). The magnetic transverse field within the slot (4) is measured using said probes. For the purpose of determining the electric current distribution, this magnetic transverse field strength is combined, by multiplication, with a width (b) of the slot (4).
