A lever mechanism for sealing a telecommunications closure includes a plurality of hinge elements; a leveraging element extending upwardly from each hinge element; an arm section extending from the leveraging element; a biasing element downwardly extending from the arm section; and a handle coupled to the biasing element such that upon application of a compressive force to at least a portion of the handle, each hinge element, each leveraging element, each arm section, and each biasing element moves, allowing the lever mechanism to change from a non-actuated position to an actuated position. The lever mechanism is further configured to couple with a spring-activated element and environmentally seal the telecommunications closure.

Compression mechanisms for cable sealing on closures

An optical fiber connector for external connection to a telecommunications enclosure is described herein. The optical fiber connector has an assembly base having a first end and a second end, an optical connection portion disposed partially within the first end of the assembly base and a strain relief assembly disposed on the second end of the assembly base. The assembly base includes a body portion and a release portion which defines a release mechanism that causes the release portion to move relative to the body portion. The release portion includes at least one cam that is configured to release or disengage the at least one latch element when the release portion moves with respect to the body portion so that the optical fiber connector can be removed from the port of the telecommunication enclosure.

Connector for telecommunication enclosures

A telecommunication enclosure is described herein wherein the telecommunications enclosure is configured for making an external optical connection. The enclosure includes a base having at least one port having an integral exterior section disposed around the port outside of the enclosure and an optical coupling disposed at least partially within the port. The optical coupling has a first connector housing disposed within the exterior section of the port and a second connector housing disposed within the interior of the telecommunication enclosure. In an exemplary aspect, the optical coupling is secured directly within the port of the telecommunication enclosure.

Telecommunication enclosure and coupling with insertion orientation features

A telecommunication enclosure () is described herein wherein the telecommunications enclosure () is configured for making an external optical connection. The enclosure includes a base () having at least one port () having an integral exterior section () disposed around the port () outside of the enclosure () and an optical coupling () disposed at least partially within the port (). The optical coupling () has a first connector housing () disposed within the exterior section of the port () and a second connector housing () disposed within the interior of the telecommunication enclosure (). In an exemplary aspect, the optical coupling () is secured directly within the port () of the telecommunication enclosure ().

High retention force optical coupling

A method of terminating an optical fiber drop cable with an optical fiber connector and said optical fiber connector are described herein wherein said optical fiber connector can be inserted into a port structure of a telecommunication enclosure to provide an environmentally sealed connection. The exemplary connector has a main body with an interior passageway extending from a first end to a second end of the main body and a compressible portion at the second end of the main body, a compression member attachable to the second end of the optical fiber connector over the compressible portion, an optical connection portion disposed at least partially within the interior, and an outer housing disposed over the connection portion wherein the outer housing has an external shape mateable with a standard format optical coupling.
