A soldering aid for connecting a cable to a printed circuit board includes an electrically insulating body having a first, second and third recesses, and an electrically conductive contact structure coupled thereto. The contact structure is partially embedded in the body to be connected to a cable core therein, and partially protrudes from the body to be connected the printed circuit board. The first recess is conically tapered to receive an end portion of the cable and has first and second sections for non-stripped and stripped portions of the cable end portion, respectively. An end of the second recess adjoins the second section of the first recess to enable optical verification of formation of a connection between the cable core and the contact structure. The third recess is configured to receive and transfer solder to the second section of the first recess to thereby form the connection.

Soldering aid for connecting a cable to a printed circuit board

A method is for producing a cable which comprises a conductor and a barrel. The conductor has individual wires and is enclosed, at least in portions, by a piece of insulation. The conductor is heated and a crimping process is carried out for electrically contacting the barrel with the conductor. The barrel is pressed together with the heated conductor during the crimping process in such a way that the conductor is initially compressed on a first axial sub-portion of the conductor and subsequently the compression of the conductor is spread to a larger second axial sub-portion.

Method and device for producing a cable and cable produced by the method

An assembled electrical cable includes at least one core that is surrounded by an insulating sheath and that extends in a longitudinal cable direction between a first and a second free end of the cable. At the first free end of the cable, the core is freed of the insulating sheath and is provided with an electrical contact element. The core, together with the contact element thereof, is accommodated in an electrically insulating carrier. The carrier has at least one cutout through which the contact element is externally accessible. The contact element is provided in a section with an electrical insulation that differs from the insulating sheath.

Assembled electrical cable

A method for manufacturing a cable having a wire, a shield, a jacket, and a sleeve electrically contacted to the shield, includes removing the jacket at an end of the cable so that the shield is exposed. A support clamp is attached in such a way that the support clamp is electrically contacted to the shield and that, at an end of the shield, a projecting portion protrudes axially from the support clamp, the shield surrounded by the support clamp having a radial distance from an outer contour of the support clamp. The end of the shield is severed in such a way that, after the severing operation, a length of the projecting portion is shorter than the radial distance in a state in which the shield is folded radially outwardly. The sleeve is mounted so that it is disposed radially outwardly of the support clamp and electrically contacted thereto.
