The invention relates to an installation and to a process for the production of foam in a continuous foaming process with the following steps, measuring actual surface temperatures of the foam or the facing layers along a conveying direction and determining a control variable for the foaming process as a function of a deviation of the actual surface temperatures from the nominal surface temperatures.

The invention relates to a plant and a process for the production of foam in a continuous slabstock process in which the actual foam height profile is detected transversely to the feed direction and a correcting variable for the slabstock process based on deviation of the actual foam height profile from a desired foam height profile is determined.
