A tractor braking system () having independent brake circuits (L,R) for each of a left and a right wheel is provided. Each circuit is activated by a respective brake pedal (). The system comprises a releasable locking mechanism () to lock the two pedals together and sensors () to detect depression of the respective pedals (). In response to a detection of only one pedal being depressed, warning means are provided to indicate to a driver that the pedals are in an unlocked state. A sensing of simultaneous depression of the pedals may be used to indicate that the pedals are in a locked state.

Tractor steering braking system

A control means for an agricultural tractor is disclosed which has a switching element carrier arranged in proximity to the leading end region of an arm rest of a driver's seat. The control means has a large number of switches for controlling various vehicle units and the carrier has a hand rest () provided with a spherical surface for the palm of the vehicle driver's hand. An adjustment wheel () is provided for controlling a switching element (), the adjustment wheel having a setting rim () which extends from the switching element carrier in a region which can be reached by the fingers of the hand resting on the hand rest (). Preferably the control means is provided with two adjustment wheels () one above the other, each adjustment wheel having a setting rim () which can be reached by the fingers of a hand resting on the hand rest. These adjustment wheels () preferably have actuating shafts () which extend substantially coaxially and the lower adjustment wheel () has a larger external diameter than the upper adjustment wheel ().

A control device is disclosed for vehicles, in particular towing vehicles used for agricultural purposes which have a mounting located near the front of the armrest of the driver's seat for a group of control members used to control various functions of the vehicle. A group of control members consisting of a plurality of switches or buttons and a manually-operated lever are provided to minimize fatigue when the vehicle driver is seated for a long period of time. A hand support is also included near the control members to support the palm of the vehicle driver's hand. The switches or buttons and lever are arranged so that the switches or buttons can be reached and operated comfortably with the outstretched fingers and the switching lever is located between the thumb and index finger, while the hand is resting on the hand support.
