Described is a component for mounting on a circuit board, comprising a multiplicity of electrical terminal members for connection to said circuit board. The component is characterized in that several electrical terminal members are fixed in a predetermined relative position by a plastics body that is injection-molded thereto. The electrical terminal members can thus be permanently and reliably fixed in an exact, predetermined relative position with minimum expenditure.

The invention relates to a shielded electrical connector comprising an insulating front housing part ( ) and a plurality of juxtaposed contact lamellas ( ), said contact lamellas ( ) consisting of a mating contact portion ( ) received in the front housing part ( ), an intermediate portion ( ) molded into an insulating material, as well as a rear contact portion ( ) following said intermediate portion ( ). According to the invention a rear housing part ( ) is provided for shielding between the intermediate portions ( ); said rear housing part a) receives the intermediate portions ( ), b) separates the same from each other in said rear housing part ( ) by continuous partition walls ( ), and c) the rear housing part ( ) is provided with a metallization layer for shielding.

Shielded electrical connector

A guide pin for electrical connectors has an attachment section possessing two zones. Specifically a fastening zone in the form of a sturdy press-fit zone and a guide zone which has a slightly reduced outside diameter as a prepositioning zone for insertion of the guide pin into a mounting hole of an assembly. The guide pin is fastened by further pressing of the guide pin into place.

A cable connector with a grounding contact having a bipartite connector housing formed of two mutually closable parts having therein a strip member formed of plastic material and provided with plug-in contacts, and a grounding plate having at one side thereof a terminal element for cable shielding, and on another side thereof a plurality of contact lugs extending at an angle away from the grounding plate, includes insulation-piercing connecting devices formed on the plug-in contacts of the strip member in a line terminal region thereof, the insulation-piercing connecting devices being accessible from an outer side of the strip member, the contact lugs being formed and arranged in the vicinity of the insulation-piercing connecting devices so that they can make contact with the respective insulation-piercing connecting devices assigned thereto, when the two parts of the connector housing are closed.

Cable connector with a grounding contact

A high-polarity shielded cable plug includes a substantially roof-shaped plug housing which is disposed on a connection side and has two oblique surfaces. A cable is connected to one of the oblique surfaces solely with a length of shrink-fit hose having electrically conductive adhesive on the inside. The cable plug has good cable tension relief and a simultaneous electrical connection between a cable shield of the cable and the plug housing for tight installation conditions.

High-polarity shielded cable plug

A spring clip is provided which may be inserted by a flat die pressing onto it from above. The spring clip includes an insulator body with a plurality of contact springs arranged in at least one row. Each contact spring has two press-in shoulders (8,9) in its terminal region. The contact springs can be inserted into a lower part (1) of the insulator body in press-in direction from above. Each respective terminal region is deformably twisted to a fixed angle relative to the remaining part of the contact spring such that the press-in shoulders (8,9) contact against press-in surfaces (10,11) fashioned in the lower part (1) of the insulator body.

An electric connector array includes a knife strip and a spring strip of insulating material each having a plurality of signal contacts being disposed in columns and rows for connection to one another by being plugged together, and each of the signal contacts being shielded on all sides by sheet-metal elements. Ground strips which are disposed in the knife strip extend over an entire length of the knife strip and are disposed between adjacent signal contact rows. Small ground plates are disposed in the spring strip between adjacent signal contact columns. Each of the ground strips have pin-like ground contacts disposed in an intermediate grid relative to the signal contacts, for making a pluggable electrical contact with each of the small ground plates.

Electric connector array

A method for producing groups of contact elements for 90.degree.-angle plug connectors by the press-in technique, includes forming the contact elements with a stamping device into a contact region on a plug side having a plugging direction, a terminal region on a terminal side, the terminal region having a press-in segment extending at right angles to the plugging direction, and connecting struts joining the press-in segment to the contact region. Different cutting tools are inserted into the stamping device to produce groups with a different number of contact elements. Different connections are stamped between the contact regions and the terminal regions of certain contact elements with the cutting tools. A plug connector is partially equipped with only a certain number of contact elements of an applicable group with one cutting tool, by stamping the connections between a given number of the contact regions and the given number of the terminal regions of intended contact elements, and trimming off excess contact and terminal regions of unused contact elements of the applicable group with the applicable cutting tool at the same time that the different connections are produced.

Method for producing groups of contact elements for plug connectors

A printed circuit board plug connector includes first and second mutually perpendicular printed circuit boards. A first contact bank in the form of a multiple plug is disposed on the first board and a second contact bank in the form of a multiple connector is disposed in an edge region and protrudes at a longitudinal edge of the second board. The second contact bank has a plug-in area and a body with a lower surface and electrical connections protruding from a lower surface of the second board. A metal shielding element which is a rigid, rectangular, closed circumferential frame surrounds the sides of the first contact bank. The frame has longitudinal walls and transverse walls with inner surfaces. Circumferential metal sheets being feathered at narrow intervals are attached to inner surfaces of the walls of the frame in the form of inwardly curved, resilient, inner contact elements. Insert pins plug the metal shielding element into bores formed in the first board. Two metal shielding shells enclose the second contact bank, and insert pins plug the shielding shells into bores formed in opposite sides of the second board. One of the shielding shells completely encloses the second contact bank on the upper surface of the second board except for the plug-in area and the other shielding shell is attached to the lower surface of the second board and covers the lower surface of the second contact bank body including the electrical connections.

A shielded transfer system is disposed on a back panel printed wiring board for receiving cable plugs to be inserted next to one another. A shielding device for the cable plugs includes a rectangular sheet-metal frame having long side walls in the form of two mutually parallel longitudinal plates with ends and upper and lower edges. Individual crosswise plates join the longitudinal plates together at the ends and at certain intervals being predetermined by the cable plugs. The longitudinal plates and the crosswise plates have driving prongs securing the longitudinal plates and the crosswise plates to the printed wiring board. The crosswise plates have upper edges and a height placing the upper edges close to the upper edges of the longitudinal plates. The crosswise plates are hooked to the longitudinal plates at opposing locations as close as possible to the upper edges of the longitudinal plates, and the crosswise plates have lateral protrusions each being inserted into a respective hole formed in one of the longitudinal plates as close as possible to the lower edges of the longitudinal plates, to form an intrinsically stable centering strip for the cable plugs in a state of the shielding device being secured to the printed wiring board.
