The invention relates to a sensor arrangement for providing a sensor signal S indicative of a vapor quality X of a medium flowing within a conduit. A sensor includes a heating element and a temperature sensing element is arranged in thermal contact with a wall of a horizontally arranged portionof the conduit. Processing means are disposed to deliver a sensor signal S based on an output of the temperature sensing element. The sensorincludes a sensor bodymade of a metal material. The heating elementand the temperature sensing elementare arranged in thermal contact with the sensor body. The invention further relates to a cooling systemincluding at least one evaporatorfor evaporating an ammonia refrigerant, at least one compressorarranged to compress the evaporated refrigerant, and at least one condenserfor condensing the compressed refrigerant, and at least one evaporator pumpfor pumping the condensed refrigerant to the evaporator. Sensing of a vapor quality

The invention relates to a compressor unit () for a refrigeration system using a refrigerant. The compressor () unit includes a centrifugal compressor () for compressing the refrigerant, wherein the compressor () has a discharge outlet () for discharging the compressed refrigerant, and a check valve (). An inlet () of the check valve () is in fluid connection with the discharge outlet () of the compressor (). In order to provide a more reliable and more quite compressor unit (), the check valve () is a nozzle check valve including a damping mechanism (), wherein a closing parameter of the check valve () is between 50 s/mand 2000 s/m, wherein the closing parameter is a closing time of the check valve () divided by a port area of the check valve ().

An apparatus () for removing non-condensable gases from a refrigerant is described, said apparatus () comprising a pipe arrangement () having a pipe (), cooling means () for the pipe (), and venting means, wherein the pipe () comprises a connection geometry () for a connection to a refrigerant system. Such an apparatus should be operated with good efficiency. To this end the pipe comprises at least a first section () and a second section () which are directed in different directions.

Apparatus for removing non-condensable gases from a refrigerant

The invention relates to an actuator for a valve in a refrigeration system. The invention also relates to a valve with such actuator, and to a refrigeration system with such valve. The actuator comprises an elongated Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) element extending along two or more string-like extensions from a distant end to a proximate end in relation to a valve element of a valve. The SMA element, when forming part of the valve, may extend from the distant end to the proximate end connected to a housing of the SMA element, however, electrically insulated from the housing. An encapsulation may provide a thermal resistance, a thermal conductor and/or an electrical resistance between the SMA element and other elements or the surroundings of the SMA element.

Shape memory alloy actuator for valve for a vapour compression system

A flow control valve () and a method for assembling a flow control valve () are disclosed. The flow control valve () comprises a first housing part () and a second housing part () attached directly to each other, in such a manner that the first housing part () and the second housing part () form a substantially closed housing. The first housing part () defines a first flow section (), a second flow section (), a connecting port () fluidly interconnecting the first flow section () and the second flow section (), and a valve seat () arranged at the connecting port (). The flow control valve () further comprises a frame part () arranged in an interior part of the housing formed by the first housing part () and the second housing part (), the frame part () having mounted thereon a valve element () arranged movably relative to the valve seat (), a moving mechanism, e.g. including a spindle (), for moving the valve element (), and an actuating mechanism, e.g. a stepper motor (), for operating the moving mechanism. The frame part () is attached directly to the first housing part () or to the second housing part (). The frame part () along with the components mounted thereon can be mounted on the first () or second () housing part during the assembly of the flow control valve (). The final assembly step thereby only includes attaching the first () and second () housing parts to each other. This makes the assembly process easy, thereby reducing the risk of errors.
