An intravascular data analysis system to assess a blood vessel includes: an interface system configured to receive intravascular pressure data including a plurality of distal pressure (Pd) values measured by an intravascular data collection probe and a plurality of proximal pressure (Pa) values; a display system; one or more memory storage devices includes instructions; and a processor in communication with the interface system, the display system, and the one or more memory storage devices. The processor is configured to execute the instructions to: determine a plurality of Pd/Pa ratios based on the plurality of distal pressure (Pd) values and the plurality of proximal pressure (Pa) values, filter the plurality of Pd/Pa ratios using a filter having a time constant TC in a range of 1% to 50% of a heart cycle length, and control the display system to generate a plot based on the plurality of Pd/Pa ratios.

Cardiac cycle-based diagnostic systems and methods

A method of determining one or more diagnostic metrics to assess a blood vessel using intravascular data includes: sampling a sensor of an intravascular data collection probe disposed in the blood vessel during a pullback of the intravascular data collection probe through the blood vessel to obtain sampled distal pressure (Pd) values; receiving, at an intravascular data processing system, the sampled distal pressure (Pd) values and proximal pressure (Pa) values; determining sets of Pd/Pa ratios, each set including Pd/Pa ratios that are determined through an entirety of one heart cycle; determining minimum Pd/Pa ratios, each of which is a minimum within one of the sets of Pd/Pa ratios over the entirety of the corresponding heart cycle; and controlling a display system to generate a plot of a moving average of the minimum Pd/Pa ratios over time during the pullback.

In part, the disclosure relates to computer-based methods, and systems suitable for evaluating a cardiac system using a diagnostic metric such as a pressure value-based ratio. Selection of a subset or portion of a cardiac cycle is avoided in one embodiment to increase reliability and usability of a diagnostic ratio and parameters described herein. In one embodiment, a minimum or a relative extrema of a series of diagnostic metrics plotted on a per cycle basis are used to inform diagnosis of a stenosis or other intravascular event or phenomena.

In part, the disclosure relates to computer-based methods, and systems suitable for evaluating a subject to determine the appropriate diagnostic tools for assessing coronary arteries. This can include assessing various blood pressure values during a resting state (without inducing hyperemia). These systems and methods can assess a patient and identify coronary dominance on per patient basis. In turn, this assessment can be used to recommend whether a resting index is appropriate or if another index such as FFR or others such be obtained diagnostic metric such as a pressure value-based ratio.

Systems and methods to measure physiological flow in coronary arteries

In part, the invention relates to an image data collection system. The system can include an interferometer having a reference arm that includes a first optical fiber of length of L1 and a sample arm that includes a second optical fiber of length of L2 and a first rotary coupler configured to interface with an optical tomography imaging probe, wherein the rotary coupler is in optical communication with the sample arm. In one embodiment, L2 is greater than about 5 meters. The first optical fiber and the second optical fiber can both be disposed in a common protective sheath. In one embodiment, the system further includes an optical element configured to adjust the optical path length of the reference arm, wherein the optical element is in optical communication with the reference arm and wherein the optical element is transmissive or reflective.

Multimodal imaging system, apparatus, and methods

In part, the invention relates to an image data collection system. The system can include an interferometer having a reference arm that includes a first optical fiber of length of Land a sample arm that includes a second optical fiber of length of Land a first rotary coupler configured to interface with an optical tomography imaging probe, wherein the rotary coupler is in optical communication with the sample arm. In one embodiment, Lis greater than about 5 meters. The first optical fiber and the second optical fiber can both be disposed in a common protective sheath. In one embodiment, the system further includes an optical element configured to adjust the optical path length of the reference arm, wherein the optical element is in optical communication with the reference arm and wherein the optical element is transmissive or reflective.

Pressure measurement device () including a pressure sensor () adapted to perform pressure measurements in the left ventricle of a heart (). The sensor is connected to a measurement unit () to receive pressure measurement values obtained from the sensor, and to a processing means () for determining a set of pressure values, said processing means then determines a set of first order time derivative values determined from the set of pressure values. The said processing means also calculates a value of a prefined parameter of the set of first order time derivative values during said measurement period, the predefined parameter is the average or median value of the maximum value of the set of first order time derivative values, wherein the pressure measurements are performed during measurement periods using predetermined medical implant settings in a medical implant () controlling the application of stimulation pulses at least in the left and right ventricles of the heart, and that the implant setting include a first time differencebeing the time between stimulations in the left and right ventricles.

Interactive measurement system

This invention relates to a method and system for monitoring, determining by measurement and calculation and graphically displaying physiological variables related to blood pressure. At least two physiological variables, arterial pressure (Pa) and distal coronary pressure (P ), are detected by and derived from a guidewire-mounted pressure sensor. The Myocordial Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR ) is determined by calculating a ratio P /P from the measured physiological variables (P , P ) and a graph is formed and displayed of the data resulting from the calculation. The invention also provides an interactive graphical user interface system for controlling the calculation of and for displaying, in at least one screen on a display in a monitoring unit, intermediate and final results of the method.
