A method performed in a User Equipment, UE, for handling handover from a source access node to a target access node is provided. The UE receives () a handover command message from the source access node. The handover command message includes parameters required for deriving a security context associated with the target access node. The UE establishes () a radio connection with the target access node. When detecting () that a security context switching criterion is fulfilled, the UE stops () to use a security context associated with the source access node.

Systems and methods are disclosed herein that relate to Quality of Experience (QoE) measurement configuration and reporting in a cellular communications system during mobility. In one embodiment, a method performed by a User Equipment (UE) comprises receiving a QoE measurement configuration and a measurement duration time associated to the QoE measurement configuration, starting to perform QoE measurements in accordance with the QoE measurement configuration, starting a measurement duration timer upon starting to perform the QoE measurements, the measurement duration timer being initialized to the measurement duration time associated to the QoE measurement configuration, and continuing to perform the QoE measurements while the measurement duration timer is running. Embodiments related to the method of operation of a RAN node are also disclosed.

Configuration of QoE measurements and associated measurement duration time supporting mobility

Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE), particularly for performing quality of experience (QoE) measurements configured by a wireless network. Such methods include receiving, from a radio access network node (RNN) in the wireless network, a request for QoE measurement reports that are available at the UE and that are associated with one or more services provided by the UE application layer. Such methods also include sending one or more QoE measurement reports to the RNN in accordance with the request. Other embodiments include complementary methods for a RNN, as well as UEs and RNNs configured to perform such methods.

Enhanced network control over quality-of-experience (QoE) measurement reports by user equipment

Systems and methods are disclosed herein that relate to frequency domain resource allocation for interlaced transmission. Embodiments of a method performed by a wireless device are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving a reserved resource indicator that indicates an uplink reserved resource pattern. The uplink reserved resource pattern defines at least which subset of uplink Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) from among a set of allocated uplink PRBs are not available for uplink transmission. In this manner, a low overhead, flexible frequency domain resource allocation scheme for partial interlace transmission is provided.

A method performed by a wireless device includes receiving ephemeris data from a network node associated with a first cell. The ephemeris data is associated with a satellite serving a second cell, and the ephemeris data is coarse ephemeris data comprising less than full accuracy than full ephemeris data. The wireless device uses the coarse ephemeris data to locate a beam associated with the second cell and synchronizes with the second cell.

Methods and systems for signalling ephemeris data in a non-terrestrial network

The present disclosure relates to transmitting synchronization signals and in particular to so called beam sweep. In particular the disclosure relates to methods for providing synchronization using synchronization sequences that are transmitted at different points in time. The disclosure also relates to corresponding devices and computer programs. A method in a network node, for transmitting synchronization sequences of a synchronization signal to one or more receiving wireless devices, comprises determining multiple synchronization sequences, such that each synchronization sequence comprises a respective timing indication, whereby each synchronization sequence enables determination of a time of an event in a receiving wireless device and transmitting the synchronization sequences to the one or more wireless devices, at different points in time.

A method performed by a wireless device for determining an identity of the wireless device, MsgB RNTI, in a wireless communications network during a random access procedure is provided. The wireless device transmits a random access preamble on a RACH at a random access occasion. It also transmits a message on a PUSCH that corresponds to the random access preamble. Further, the wireless device determines an MsgB RNTI as the sum of a first identity, RA-RNTI, and an offset that is an integer greater than 1, wherein the RA-RNTI is based on a sum comprising terms corresponding to at least the index of a first OFDM symbol, the index of a frequency resource, and the index of a first time slot that identifies the time/frequency resources of the random access occasion.

Wireless device, a network node, and methods therein for determining an identity of a wireless device during a random access procedure

A UE is provided with a dedicated preamble for use in a two-step random access procedure, as well as dedicated, contention-free PUSCH transmission resources for the PUSCH part of msgA. In one embodiment, the base station transmits a partial PUSCH msgA configuration to the UE using dedicated RRC signaling. In another embodiment, the base station transmits a resource index to the UE indicative of a dedicated PUSCH resource for a msgA transmission via dedicated RRC signaling.

Two-step random access

Systems and methods for collection and reporting of Channel Occupancy (CO) statistics for network tuning are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for tuning one or more parameters of a network comprises obtaining a configuration for CO measurement and reporting. The method also includes obtaining a plurality of CO measurements based on the obtained configuration for CO measurement and reporting. One or more of the plurality of CO measurements are obtained when a Radio Resource Control (RRC) state of the wireless device is RRC_INACTIVE or RRC_IDLE. One or more of the plurality of CO measurements are obtained when the RRC state is RRC_CONNECTED. The method also includes reporting a result of one or more of the plurality of CO measurements to a network node. This might allow improved tuning of networks such as tuning of mechanisms that are used to compensate for potential CCA/LBT failures.

Collection and reporting of channel occupancy statistics for network tuning

Buffer Status Reports (BSR), by which the network is made aware of uplink transmission needs of wirless devices, are specifically enabled to be transmitted using 2-step Random Access (RA), to reduce latency and network resource use. In one embodiment, 2-step RA configurations tailored to BSR-transmissions are introduced. These may, for example, use a subset of the configured resources in the configured 2-step RA resources for BSR. In another embodiment, conditions for triggering BSR over 2-step RA, depending on the traffic, are introduced. For example, the priority or the the delay budget of the traffic may be used to determine whether a BSR over 2-step RA should be triggered. In another embodiment, simplified procedures when receiving the response to MsgA are introduced. These may include, for example, not transmitting a full MsgB, but rather having the UE receive an UL grant.

Efficient buffer status reporting over 2-step RA

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for random access. The method which may be performed by a terminal device comprises performing a transmission of a message to a network node in a random access procedure. The transmission of the message may comprise transmission of a preamble and transmission of a payload on a shared channel. The method further comprises receiving a response message from the network node. In response to the response message, the terminal device may perform a retransmission of the payload on the shared channel to the network node according to retransmission configuration.

Method and apparatus for random access

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for Quality of Experience (QoE) measurements handling at overload in a Radio Access Network (RAN) of a cellular communications system. In one embodiment, a method performed by a first RAN node for handling QoE measurement configuration and/or reporting during RAN overload comprises performing one or more actions related to one or more aspects of QoE measurement configuration, QoE measurement reporting, or both QoE measurement configuration and QoE measurement reporting that mitigate an RAN overload condition. In one embodiment, performing the one or more actions comprises performing one or more actions related to transfer of one or more aspects of QoE measurement configuration from the first RAN node to a second RAN node, transfer of one or more aspects of QoE measurement reporting from the first RAN node to the second RAN node, or both.

A method performed by a source access node for performing data forwarding at handover of a UE from a source cell to a target cell in a wireless communications network is provided. When a criterion for data forwarding is fulfilled, the source access node obtains a trigger for downlink data forwarding.
