A composition comprising at least two trimeric cyclic ketone peroxides: a trimeric cyclic methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (3MEK-cp) of formula (I) and at least one peroxide satisfying formula (II) wherein Rthrough Rare independently selected from alkyl and alkoxyalkyl groups, said groups having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, the total number of carbon plus oxygen atoms of R&#x2212;R+Ris in the range 7-15, and the molar ratio of 3MEK-cp to the total amount of peroxides satisfying formula (II) being in the range of from 10:90 to 80:20. 

Cyclic ketone peroxide composition

Emulsion comprising an oil phase dispersed in an aqueous phase, wherein said oil phase comprises at least 53 wt % of one or more organic peroxides, more than 50 wt % of which have a molecular active oxygen content of at least 7.00 5 wt %, said emulsion satisfying the classification tests for organic peroxide type F. This emulsion allows the safe transport and storage of organic peroxide emulsions with high active oxygen content without the need for larger vent openings or higher design pressure of transport tanks and storage tanks.

The present invention relates to a cyclic ketone peroxide formulation comprising one or more crystallizing cyclic ketone peroxides, one or more co-crystallizing compounds which solidify in said cyclic ketone peroxide formulation at a temperature above the crystallization temperature of the crystallizing cyclic ketone peroxide, and, optionally, one or more conventional phlegmatizers (diluents). These formulations show improved safety and storage stability compared to conventional cyclic ketone peroxide formulations. The invention also pertains to the use of these formulations in (co)polymerization and (co)polymer modification processes.

Cyclic ketone peroxide formulations

This disclosure relates to storageable and/or transportable compositions containing a peroxydicarbonate to which an organic hydroperoxide, e.g. t-butyl hydroperoxide, has been added. The hydroperoxide serves to retard peroxydicarbonate decomposition. The compositions may be in the form of physical mixtures, aqueous dispersions or solutions in organic solvents.
